Meira, the Glass-Hearted Girl, is faced with almost certain demise. She only has a twenty percent chance to survive her upcoming surgery…. Without it, she’s doomed to die.
As she looks out her hospital window, she thinks about her life. It’s an existence confined to hospital rooms that sustain her but also imprison her… an existence filled with vital sign checks, rounds of endless medications, and the constant irregular beeping of her heart monitor.
The world beyond her hospital window is one she’s always yearned for. It’s so vast and filled with many unknowns. It’s a life of mystery that she wants to uncover. It’s a mystery that she’s only ever dreamed of while watching everyone else walk away from Wellston Memorial.
