In 20XX, an enormous earthquake shook the world and caused a triangular crater to suddenly appear in the middle of Bermuda Triangle. The world was aghast with this discovery and it became even more concerning when scout teams came across a mysterious force, preventing people from getting too close. Those who went to examine it said that the force was like an invisible wall and there was no way around it, therefore, making further investigation difficult.
Spiritual events and sightings have also dramatically increased since then.
It got to the point where people began to hold festivals to honor the dead and the mythical creatures. It wasn't long until it became a new worldwide sensation and there was not a single day where spiritual events weren't on the news
Our heroine, Maya (19), was busy earning her living so this kind of event was of little importance aside from adding an exciting spice into her life. But then her world crumbled when a Goddess came and announced that her family would die in a car accident in the near future.
The Goddess offered Maya a deal: She would alter her family’s fate in exchange for closing the Bermuda Crater. In order to do so, Maya would have to go to a place called The Forgotten Isles, find what caused it, and look for a solution.
If she agreed, three men would accompany her, acting as bodyguards. Apparently, they each have their own circumstances and a wish to be granted.

Our team is always looking for ways to improve and would love your feedback! Here are some optional questions for you to answer:
1. Which guy did you like the most and why?
2. Do you play a lot of otome/visual novels? What made you choose to play Nusantara?
3. Which element of the game would you say was the best and which ones would you say need work? Consider story, art, characters, music etc.
4. Do you have any other questions, comments or constructive criticism?
Now without further ado, have fun and enjoy the adventure!

Note: Although the store page notes this as well, there are depictions of blood, violence, etc., so a bit of a heads up.
Fairytales don't always have a happily ever after...
Nusantara: Bermuda is an otome, dark fantasy visual novel developed and published by SweetChiel. Although there is a predecessor to this game, Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones, Bermuda serves as more of a spin-off. You take on the role of Maya (whose name can be changed), living with her family and doing her best to make ends meet. Meanwhile, the news has reported an unusual phenomenon in which an earthquake has caused the emergence of a crater in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. One day, Maya is approached by a stranger known as the Goddess, who tells her that her family will die in a car accident in the near future. However, the Goddess has the power to change their fate. In return, Maya, along with three guys who would serve as her bodyguards, has to travel to the Forgotten Isles and close the crater. Not wanting her family to die, Maya agrees to the deal, and thus, her adventure and the possibility of romance begin. As for the gameplay, it mostly consists of choices and some of those choices can take the form of locations. Occasionally, choices are timed, so you have to hurry to make a decision or else, the game will make the choice for you, for better or worse. Also, there's some stat raising in regards to the three male interests who are Maya's bodyguards: Kahlil (the reincarnated fox), Gunther (the reincarnated weasel), and Arya (the reincarnated wolf). In addition, a few mini-games are present in the form of timed hidden object scenes and (mostly) untimed jigsaw puzzles. There are plenty of CGs and a varied soundtrack along with an encyclopedia that contains fun Indonesian and other miscellaneous facts. Of course, plenty of Steam achievements are present, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game". I remember playing Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones way back and how much I enjoyed it. Thus, when I found out about Nusantara: Bermuda coming to Steam, I really wanted a chance to play and review it, and the developer was very kind to send me a review key. ^^ Without further delay, I'll first talk about the story. It starts off a bit slow since it details Maya's daily life and her meeting the three bodyguards before they actually get their mission from the Goddess. However, I didn't mind this since it helps to establish Maya's and the guys' personalities. Of course, the actual adventure starts after the group goes to the Forgotten Isles for their mission, courtesy of the Goddess. XD Of course, the Goddess has also made deals with the bodyguards. Speaking of the guys, they have quite varying personalities. Kahlil is the friendly, mischievous type, Gunther is the seemingly dangerous, cocky one (but he's a great cook), and Arya is the tsundere, angry type who loves to spend time on his laptop. I love how the guys have their own tragic backstories and there are connections to their past lives as animals. My personal favorite is definitely Arya since I can't help getting drawn to the tsundere type and he's a lone wolf, which I can totally empathize with. I enjoyed playing all of their routes, and the story itself is basically the same with them, with the only difference being how the romance between Maya and the guy develops. For everyone who's curious about the romance scenes, they're sweet and there's no sexual content or such. However, I shouldn't forget that there's a fourth option in which Maya can romance the antagonist. However, that route is locked until you get all of the other guys' good endings, at least. I believe the antagonist's route is intended to be the true route, and it was totally worth waiting, as I found it to be very emotional. Gosh, I found myself crying at the end of his route, even in the good ending. I did find it to be a bit on the lonely side, though, since
the other three guys will never appear. It would have been nice if they had made an appearance at the end of the story or whatnot, but that's personal preference
. With the gameplay, I enjoyed it very much since there's a bit of variety. The timer is a bit too fast for my liking when it comes to timed choices, but if you're using a walkthrough (like I did), then it isn't an issue. As for the mini-games, it can be a bit stressful with the timed HOGs since you're not given a lot of time to find all of the items. It's possible to miss that last item and end up with a game over ending. With the jigsaw puzzles, which only appear on the antagonist's route, I found them pretty enjoyable, for the most part. The only one I found a bit frustrating was the final one, mainly because the background color blended too much with a few jigsaw puzzle pieces. Basically, I was playing blindly to find those last few pieces, but thankfully, you can choose to play the jigsaw puzzles in relaxed mode. The writing is fairly well-paced. I noticed occasional typos, but the story itself is understandable. The romance scenes were especially enjoyable to read. Before I forget, assuming that you're not playing the antagonist's route, there's a sweet cameo by characters from Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones. That made me squeal with delight, and it was nice to learn what happened to Tamara, the main character from that game. Regarding the art, it is absolutely gorgeous. The backgrounds and sprites are drawn and colored well, and of course, the CGs are especially done well. They're totally worth unlocking and viewing in the CG Gallery. ^^ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3367207408 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368369541 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368944344 I should note that since there is some violence, some of the CGs may have bloody scenes and whatnot. As for the music, there are a variety of tracks, and they fit perfectly in the scenes they are placed. They have that adventure, fantasy vibe going on, with the exception of the tracks early in the story since they take place in the modern world. XD There's no voice acting, but honestly, I think it's not necessary since I found it such a pleasure to read the story. Overall, would I recommend Nusantara: Bermuda? If you're a fan of otome visual novels and dark fantasy, you definitely need to check out this game. Having played a lot of visual novels, this is one of the best games that I've played this year, and I'm a bit sad that it's gone under the radar. Hopefully, this review has given a bit of insight into this game, and more people will check it out. Also, it's totally worth the price point, especially if you play all the routes. It took me a little over 36 hours to 100% complete the game. Finally, I'd like to give a major thank you to SweetChiel for the review key. It was such a joy and pleasure to play this game, and yes, I will always have love for my sweet, tsundere, lone wolf boy Arya. ^^
The Introverted Gamer and Otome Rakuen team up to give readers highly detailed, thorough reviews of hot romance games.
This was a wonderful roller-coaster Otome I have played. It is such a wonderful, well written dark fantasy Otome that really emphasizes on refusing to give up on hope even on the most dim moments. Pros: - Has a wonderful, yet flawed MC who is a joy to read throughout the game. Maya is a hardworking girl, kind, compassionate and family driven. She wanting to give people a chance and compassion is her biggest strength along with her weakness. It is great seeing her interact with the other love interests. It is great seeing her backstory and how she acts before the plot starts. -All of the LIs are wonderfully written and has a different dynamic with Maya that is great to see. -The worldbuilding is very interesting. -the 4th route in specific was really wonderful and just the route I wanted after finishing the main game. Neutral: The minigame for the 4th route made me want to rip my hair off. I wished the dev had made it optional if you had completed them once already. Overall, please give this game a chance if you can.
Firstly, thank you for creating such an enjoyable game. I’ve been following your work from the beginning, and it’s been a worthwhile experience. I really appreciate your writing style, especially how you portray the heroine as a relatable and grounded character. That said, I personally preferred how the routes were handled in the previous Nusantara title. The separate storylines in that game allowed for deeper character development and emotional connection with each love interest. In this installment, since all the characters travel together, there’s naturally more shared content—which led to repeated scenes across routes. Apart from Guntur’s and the Antagonist's routes, which offered fresh perspectives, I often found myself using the skip button to get to new content, which reduced the emotional impact for me. Additionally, the link between each character’s past sins and their present misfortunes felt underdeveloped—it was present but didn’t quite hit with the depth I hoped for. Lastly, on a personal note, I’m not a fan of open endings; I would have preferred seeing a specific character take responsibility and seek redemption, rather than a more abstract, open-ended conclusion.
(Comments enabled - if you have questions I'll do my best to answer.)
You should know: This game has a good, compelling antagonist route.
Those aren't exactly common in this genre so if you like the sound of that, grab this game. Overall, I found this game charming, albeit with some hit-and-miss elements. This game does a really good job of putting its fun, refreshing lineup of outcasts in the spotlight. Seriously, the blind guy who cusses like a sailor is probably the most "normal" of them all. Despite their circumstances, the characters are pretty believable even with the setting being primarily fantasy, and it's easy to root for them! The main leads really lean on their semi-dysfunctional teamwork to get things done, and there's no melodrama. If you like your protagonist to be proactive, you're also in luck. The art is really varied and lively, and I think the steam page undersells some of its CGs, which tend to look nice and dynamic. There are more CGs than some full-budget titles, with attention being given to moments other game developers wouldn't have bothered with! There's also some pretty decent action scenes; I'm usually not a fan of them, but they're competently done here. Depending on your route there will be several new scenes, making it pretty replayable. Just check out how long I played the game at the top of the review! The main downside with this title is that the plot slows down/draws itself out at times, specifically during the "autumn village" section. Again, the game is pretty detailed; it gives the characters a lot of opportunities to shine and display their personalities, but maybe to a fault? Your mileage may vary, as I have a lower tolerance of slice-of-life stuff. That said, the drawn out portions are usually setting you up for the final confrontations as well as the final route, and the game does a good job at hinting that "something is wrong™". I put the game down and picked it back up later only to realize I had taken a break right as things got good. Disclaimer: There's appropriate splashes of actual dark/horror elements here, which I found interesting. You shouldn't find it off-putting unless you're really sensitive, but I figured ya'll deserve a heads up. This is a solid indie romance title and while imo it isn't in my top 3, I do think this game is memorable and worth buying. Especially if you're already familiar with indie titles in this genre!
TLDR:
If you like the idea of a troupe of goofy misfits experiencing a "hero's journey" type story with a rewarding final route, and you are willing to put up with a (on the surface) generic world setting with lopsided (but worthwhile) pacing, grab it. The final route is worth the price alone.
This game really needs more love. This game took the creator 7+ years to complete, and it shows. Full price it is worth every single cent! The music alone can inspire all sorts of emotions while you read. The length helps with its replayability, as there is SO MUCH good stuff. Not to mention you actually start dating your LI around half way in the story, so you can actually see precious moments of their relationship together. I must admit, certain... aspects did make me a little uneasy at first, however they were handled well, and by the end, you can see how much thought was put into each character..... WTH WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS, JUST BUY IT ALREADY!!!!
This game is SO worth it! After devotedly playing this game for a few days, I've finished it and can I just say OH MY GOSH 😭 I love this game SO MUCH! I'll definitely be thinking about this game for a long time. I was already hardcore attached to Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones (play that game too if you haven't!), this one's going be buried deep in my heart too >< !!! The characters are so lovable on their own, and their dynamic together are so cute and heartwarming! A bunch of misfits that found friendship (and family) with each other as they traverse through this new world they found themselves in. Prepare your heart for a bittersweet tale! Especially prepare your heart for the hidden route! IT WAS SO GOOD!!!! 1000/10 would let them wreck my heart again
I've been following the Developer for years as she had worked on this project and... I finally got around to it. Was it worth the wait? I mean... I enjoyed it. There were certainly improvements over the previous installment: Far more things to do/read, more pretty things, mini-games and ah... The expansion of the world itself. Sadly, there was no constant presence of half-naked men this time around... And... Somehow... Only Bayu and "The Jester" guy looked good to me. Preferences on top of preferences, eh? As for the Love Interests... I only like the ones that aren't afraid to go for it. I don't get this whole "Oh, can I touch/kiss you?".......... I be like....... "We like each other... Can't you freaking read the signals?" >......> Which is why REKSA and ARYA are my favorites. Reksa is from the previous one, but he will be forever mentioned and brought up at random moments and Arya... Arya is freaking hilarious. He might have "downtime" in his story and yet... It makes up with some really good moments afterwards!! Also, I got so used to his mask... That is was super odd for me to even look at his face. HAH! Ah... I don't know what else. I was definitely not disappointed and I know the Developer has future projects in mind and seeing as I am still in the physical realm, I'll be around to check it out. Keep up the good work and you got this!!! :D :D :D
I am a biased since I've been following the update logs for quite a while and I was quite hype for the release(even though I missed the release-) I've lost sleep over this game but I can definitely say that my favorite route is Arya and Antagonist/??? !! Arya being a tsundere archetype helps out with his storyline and romance. Making those sweet moments even more sweeter, it's a side he never shows to other characters and only for the MC. The CGs of him are 👏 SO 👏GOOD👏 I love his design(Kahlil came 2nd), the chibi sprite for the winter area and the good ending CG, OH MY GOD! 🥹💓 ??? Route is so great! He's literally the final piece of the puzzle, things makes sense at the end. The interaction between MC and him is a bit similar like Arya but less vulgar(that's why I like it), the ending.... man... now I want more. If you know, you know. Kahlil and Guntur are great, Guntur and MC dynamic is very cute, the teasing is fun, it's all around good mood! Same goes for Kahlil, even though his route is the least memorable for me(Arya overshadows Guntur and Kahlil) the dynamic between MC and him is just like young teenage love. Very fluffy, they trying to be comfortable with each other. I have to say, even though there's no recommended routes for the first 3 bachelors, it really is down to your preference but if you're an overachiever, you want read the whole thing and get the achievements along the way, you might want to follow in the order of the mirrors. Save the best ones for last.
KAHLIL > GUNTUR > ARYA > ANTAGONIST/???

Cons(and the only one I have so far)
In general, after finishing all 4 routes, I feel like the post ending scene is a bit lacking, I do wish we get to see MC's reaction to her wish being come true and the love interest interacting with MC's family. Especially with Mawar. It'll be funny to see Mawar's reaction seeing MC's S/O is Arya or her excitement seeing Kahlil. MC talks about her family to her S/O and reminiscing about them during some parts and we don't get that unfortunately. That's my only con about the game That's about it, so yeah, I still love the game, I give it a solid 9/10 and I ESPECIALLY love Arya and ???, their routes and currently suffering a brainrot bc of them.
I've wanted to play this since 2017 because I really liked the first Nusantara game. I've been waiting almost 8 years for this, but now it feels like the only reason I'm still interested is because my younger self was so excited for it. I'm only on Day 1, and I'm already unsure if I should keep going. The writing feels like something from Wattpad, and the grammar sounds a bit childish. I was honestly surprised, she's a tarot card reader during the day, and then at night... a pole dancer?! I'm going to keep playing, but honestly, I just hope I can make it to the end. I recommend getting this on sale, but at full price? Honestly, I really wouldn't recommend it.
I originally bought this game on itch.io and enjoyed it so much that I purchased it again here just to support the developer and hopefully encourage more people to give it a chance. I liked all the characters to varying degrees, but The Antagonist’s route stood out the most and his dynamics with the heroine was fantastic. The route was incredibly engaging, and I’m genuinely grateful I got to experience it; it was that enjoyable to read and my shipper heart is satisfied.
