Achei incrível. Muito do combate eu meio que tive que adivinhar o que fazer, mas não abalou minha experiência. E, aparentemente algumas pessoas estavam tendo crash no fim do game, comigo não crashou nenhuma vez.
Ginseng Hero is a short one shot game where your main goal is to gather tea to cure your loved one's sickness. The story is simple and silly but gets a pass as the exploration is the main priority of this game. The one shot aspect comes in the form of having only one life to complete everything needed to win the game, each death resetting your character all the way from the start. It's interesting playing this game now as it feels like a very early rendition of the rougelite genre that is all so popular currently in gaming. Although you aren't gaining anything physical whenever you die, what you gain is knowledge on how to tackle certain enemies and where specific items are. Certain areas on a first visit will seem daunting and absurdly hard, instantly overwhelming you and leading to your death, however this game has been designed with an open nature in mind so they're multiple pathways to take for you to experiment on what route you want to finally settle on. You'll start to realize certain enemies have little weaknesses you can take advantage of and one path might be better than another. It all culminates into your final run where you put all the pieces of the puzzle together and flawlessly execute your run and complete the challenge. That main loop is what keeps you going, along with the beautifully crafted world. This game's art style oozes creativity and every scene is perfectly realized, partially due to the fixed camera angles. Each new environment is a treat to explore and experience and it's always fun to see how the developers transformed this tiny insect world into something that could be explorable. The only fault I really have with this game is the combat as with most Sokpop games, it's pretty lackluster and at certain times annoying. There's this small delay that occurs before you swing your weapon and it's always hard to get a hold of, you never fully get acquitted to it and by the end of my journey it was still bugging me. Enemies also rag-doll all around and while it's pretty funny, at certain points the physics can get a little janky and mess up, especially with the flying enemies. Some enemies are also just annoying to fight as they'll block your attacks and you have to break their guards yet once again it never fully clicked with me on how to achieve this, but this could just be an issue with me. Overall though, these critiques are very minor in the face of everything this game gets right, there's even a fun achievement to complete the game in 15 minutes, so there's a little extra goal to accomplish once you've done everything. After playing a few of these Sokpop game's, this one is pretty high up there on my ranking of all of them. Brume still holds the cake for the best in my eyes, this Ginseng Hero is a fun, colorful little bug journey that will put a smile on your face once you've beaten it.

Boring, dull, repetitive, unsatisfactory combat, and awkward movement.
Cute little forest world Obnoxious rubbery character movement 3+ 'Bosses' Can parry Has an achievement for beating under 15 min and I was able to under 9 Bought on sale
An immensely charming game featuring neat proc-gen animation, surprisingly satisfying combat, and understated meta-progression elements. It's challenging; sometimes you get blindsided and punished by new mechanics, but the thrill of those mechanics finally clicking into place made it worthwhile for me. My only complaints are the long death runs and the unavoidable dialog cues you're forced to click through every time. At $3, and with semi-frequent discounts, this game is more than worth the price of admission.
Finally beat this today (at the time of writing this) and boy was it probably the most simple but rewarding ending i ever got, especially since with how slow this game is it took me HOURS to finish . But i'd say it was worth it, because honestly this is by far my favorite sokpop game of all the ones i have (and even up there with my fav games in general). It's a simple little adventure game about cute little bugs which i love the designs of, and the combat mechanics and everything else is surprisingly fun! and personally i love the weirdly ragdoll-ish procedural animation with how enemies and such waddle around. It makes everything seem a bit more fluid instead of just having the same preset animations. Now i will say there are quite a lot of flaws in this game. There's regular issues with the ragdoll physics and imo some features like the boss fights could potentially be improved (
the fact the tiger beetle can basically be cheesed is funny but kinda sad
) and i'd like it if death wasn't quite so easily exploitable, but all and all there aren't really any real issues other then just minor gameplay flaws. And none of those things really bothered me anyway. So generally, atleast for me, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. 100% would definitely recommend to anyone who just wants a simple, cute and stress-free game to enjoy while still having a bit of action. TLDR: Funny buggy bug game, 10/10
cute bug doing violence >:) roguelite structure < :( combat feels really fun and satisfying, but I didn't finish the game because there's a lot of backtracking. going back over the same spots trying to find the same resources to bribe the same npcs to fight the same little critters to attempt the same boss again--but you know, it's trying something here. kinda wish I was able to just run through the game in one go though, cause the characters are real funny lookin' and the encounter design is great but there isn't like, an insane amount of depth to combat... still, there are lots of fresh little ideas here and I think they're worth checking out. I really like the section with the rain droplets and the little dudes, thought that was awesome and the bosses are very cool too! tho if I remember right there was this one frog dude who had this tongue move and it's probably a skill issue but I could not for the life of me understand how to counter it, it felt a bit cheeky :/
When it comes to games where I'm not sure if I'd recommend it or not... I just say yes to help to dev out. That being said, it can be somewhat frustrating. The combat is... acceptable. I'm not too huge of a fan of it, unless I'm just not doing it efficiently. Although I don't mind the slow speed of getting around, it makes the backtracking kind of bad. On the other hand, this is just one of those games where it starts out opaque and then you figure it out more and more. It becomes easier the more you play. I ended up making this a bit harder for myself when it came to collecting the blue leafs to access one of the areas. Pay attention to the order you do things! It's Sokpop, so there's that charm that I love. I'll probably never play it again, but I don't regret my time with it.
