Ghost of a Tale

Jogo com atmosfera incrível, um verdadeiro steaht, os puzzles são muito bons e os gráficos melhores ainda! Minha única crítica ao estúdio é a ausência das legendas em PTBR, alguns puzzles foram bem difíceis de cumprir pois fica difícil de entender o que exatamente o jogo está pedindo como na parte do porão de aranhas, fiquei um bom tempo tentando entender o que era pra ser feita lá. Espero que algum dia adicionem as legendas em Português e que o próximo que vira o Ghost a Tale 2 venha com legenda em PTBR! No mais jogo recomendadissimo!

I've owned this game since the year it launched and only recently got around to finish it (I completed it in just a few days). Learning that there's a sequel in the works has got me pretty hyped. While the game focuses on stealth gameplay, the mechanics are pretty simple as far as stealth games go. You can sneak behind guards or lure them away using items and the environment, but that's about it. Guards don't check for oddities like doors that should be closed that have been left wide open. The stamina regen can also be pretty annoying towards the tail end of the game when you have access to the entire world, and moving anywhere can take a lot of time. However, the game absolutely shines in its worldbuilding and level design. There is so much lore that you can organically learn and find simply by reading text found in the world and talking to NPCs (even the guards have helpful things to say!). You can also collect outfits that serve different purposes, like increasing stamina regeneration, improving sneaking stats, or being chummy with the guards. The world is seamless and non-linear, meaning you can explore without having to follow a specific order, with no loading screens to boot. There are so many shortcuts that you can unlock too, making backtracking faster. I'm not usually picky about graphics, but this game is pure eye-candy (and has a photomode too if you're into that). I disliked the game at first because the maps weren't very helpful (multi-layered areas were annoying to navigate) and progressing required a lot of backtracking. There was also a bug that halted my progression at the very end of the game which was fixed by running the config reset application that the dev had prepared, but that was the only issue I had with the game. Eventually, I pressed on because I absolutely enjoyed the world and the characters. Most characters, despite how unseemingly they are, play a huge role in the protagonist's past and present. It's a relatively short game, making it well worth your time if you want a complete cozy stealth experience, with a world that I assume is inspired by Redwall. Oh yeah, there are some annoying kinks in the settings (like the FPS resetting to 30 whenever the game is launched) and the game not recognizing my controller, but it's a pretty minor annoyance.

Игра мне очень понравилась, буду ждать вторую часть. К сожалению прошел на 95% процентов ачивок. Не выполнил достижение "всезнайка", где-то пропустил 2 заметки для справочника.

Before I played many video games, I was into the Fighting Fantasy books, and I was always hoping for a video game adaptation with epic dungeons, engrossing story, immersive graphics, heroes you care about, and of course tricky puzzles. This game about the little mouse precisely scratches that old itch. The fact that a single very talented individual made this is all the more inspiring.

Thumbs-middle. I wish there was a sneak toggle option. You need to hold a button to sneak. If I were playing on keyboard, it would put strain on my fingers: it kind of already does on controller. I appreciate the indicators that appear near guards and in the peripheral that inform you how close the guards are to spotting you. I really wish my most recent save was at the top of the list when I went to go load a save. A bit weird that you can only save while in a hiding spot, but much appreciated that the game autosaves after conversing with an NPC. Lots of back and forth in this game. It's not a bad stealth game, but it can be boring if you're going the super safe route by wearing guard armor everywhere, so just keep that in mind. Don't try to go for every single achievement in one run, and you'll have a passable experience. The game does a nice job of making use of the level's space and connecting places with shortcuts. The characters are also memorable. There are better stealth games out there, but it's a charming tale told well, and the game never frustrated me in ways that didn't feel like my fault, so if it interests you, get it on sale.
