Fun but I got softlocked at the end with no solution but to reset all progress... Dude WTF
Add me to the growing list of people who is soft locked out of advancing with seemingly no response from developers. I went back to collect one of the GMOs, now I am stuck with no way to get out of my current situation after an unavoidable save. If the elevator leading to the next area was there I would be fine I believe. DISGUSTING this has not been addressed, AVOID!
Almost finished the game and noticed I missed a pick-up. I go back to collect it and the elevator leading to it is not responding and I also can't return the way I came. I am literally stuck. Why not have a switch to call the elevator back or a way to get back to where I came? I wasn't trying to break the game, this was just simple cleanup at the end of a Metroidvania game and the only way I could have gone to get the pickup if I missed it initially. I ended up having to use CE to get back out of the area so I could complete the game but there's no way to get back to collect that pick-up.
I played this game after playing the dev's previous work, Space Expedition (and I loved that little microgame!), so I already kind of knew what I was getting into. This was a cute puzzle platformer with a delightfully dark twist. The dev rightfully says that this is not a metroidvania. Although it has a map and some upgrades, the progression is rather linear and the collectibles are usually nearby. Sometimes you have to hold off on grabbing one immediately, but then it is usually obtainable after getting the next immediate upgrade and doing a small backtrack to an unfilled portion of your map. I've read some people were unable to go back and collect the banana cat if you missed it immediately after getting the magnet gun. Although I did miss him the first time around, the game did allow me to go back and collect him, so I don't know if this was fixed recently. This particular negative point for many was a nonissue for me personally. Although the game is pretty fun, I have to say that I was slightly disappointed. Health is basically useless when most of the actual obstacles that are dangerous can one shot you. Save points are usually frequent, with exception to some of the more intense sections where you will get a save point after a few grueling jumps. Nothing here is exceptionally difficult per se. This game is set up with micro sections between save points, and in a way it reminded me of a more casual Meat Boy. It's also set in space. Should've really checked all my personal boxes for really enjoying a game, but I honestly had to force myself to sit down and finish this after two one hour sessions. It wasn't until I got the double jump that I started to have a bit more fun, but a lot of the early game is pretty mindless. The runtime is also pretty short. I 100% the game in about 6 hours. I don't know if the achievements are bugged, but I somehow got the Thank You achievement without getting any of the GMO related ending achievements (even though I had all GMOs and all crystals). I'm wondering if those are just ending flags, with one being collect all GMOS, one without, and one for getting the good ending. I've heard not collecting the crystals helps unlock those. I guess I'll have to revisit this game another time to shoot for those last achievements! Oh yeah, and I also did not unlock the collect all GMO achievement initially. It took me destroying myself after collecting the final GMO for the achievement to unlock for some reason, so the achievement flags are a little bonkers. All that said, it's a neat little game with some nice pixel artwork. Don't go into this one looking for a metroidvania because it is not that at all. If you like platforming games, solving jump puzzles, and collecting strange creatures, I think you'll find something to enjoy here. That final boss is also a real treat. Go into that one blind!
Awesome metroidvania! This particular game focuses more on the platforming aspect instead of combat like fighting enemies for xp, leveling up etc. Theres enemies here that you kill but they're not the main focus here- it's the platforming. Timing your jumps, avoiding lasers, pits, using your dash and double jumping etc. And it's all done really well. The platforming starts simple but goes to more challenging but never feeling unforgiving or like those rage-inducing games. You get several different guns to shoot including a flamethrower which was a lot of fun as well as an ice gun, magnet gun, long blade and another gun to rescue the 6 animals. Really nice pixel art, beautifully chill and ambient soundtrack, and a simple story. There's plenty of save points throughout and fast travel too. There's not walls of text to read but just a couple characters that keep the story moving at a nice pace. Only negatives would be some of the enemies can be hard to actually notice sometimes and there's a few sections that didn't have save points close enough, but not a huge deal. I love watching credits of games like this because such a small group of people really created something with passion and it shows. Some of the most simple games are the most fun and it shows here. And we better get that sequel, I mean with the tease and all. 👍

I enjoyed this game for about 5 hours and nearly finished it. It's a simple 2D platformer with very little backtracking required. Great visual theme. It could use some updates though to fix known soft locks. I just went looking for one missing upgrade and due to the area design in a specific place I cannot get out. Can't go forward, back, teleport, or reload to a previous save. The issue has been known for almost 2 years now with no update or reply from the Dev Team.
As a metroidvania, it's too linear. The controls are not great and mess up sometimes. The art is pretty good, and if you consider it just a 2D platformer it's alright. It's too easy though, and there isn't really anything original here.
