About
GatePass is a 2D platformer game in which the player escapes from a 100-layer labyrinth and ventures through various stages in order to return home safely.

The main character, Knot, is a young man of the dwarf race, 30 cm tall.
While napping at home, a wild slime invades and transforms into the door of his room, imprisoning him in a different space.
The goal of his journey is to understand the natural laws of the labyrinth and return home safely.
The adventure takes place in five main stages, all with their own unique gimmicks that serve as axes.
As the stages progress, a variety of tricks and mechanisms are introduced to further explore the system.
There are a total of 100 levels in the labyrinth, and players must understand and operate each stage's system,
The player must understand the system of each stage, operate it, and use objects wisely.
Sometimes, reflexes and skill are the only way to get to the exit.
Currently, Knot can be challenged with 3 HP by default, but every 5Death count will increase his initial life by 1.
It is possible to fight with Max 12, and we intend to make it possible for those who are not good at action games to complete the game.
Exit Red, the low difficulty level, requires players to go through 50 levels to reach the ending.
Exit Green, which is completely clear, requires players to go through all the floors, and requires brains and clever platforming skills.
For a first-time player, we assume that it will take more than 2 hours to clear the 50th floor. It is assumed that it will take more than 10 hours to clear the floor completely.
*This game has been updated to support gamepad controls after its release on Steam.
However, if you find gamepad controls difficult, we recommend playing with a keyboard.
You can assign any keys you like in the key configurations, but we recommend assigning the cross keys only to left and right.
There are some stages in GatePass where you have to move the cross keys of the keyboard very hard and precisely.
You can have fun with the keyboard controls, but with a controller, the simultaneous operation of the up/down and left/right keys However, it may be too difficult to use the up/down and left/right keys at the same time with a controller.

Reviews

Challenging puzzle platformer that combines many mechanics together. It controls very similarly to I Wanna Be The Guy and its fangames, the main character having instant horizontal acceleration and a double jump. There are many quick-time related challenges involving timed boxes or gates, making certain platform cycles, and avoiding harmful obstacles that need you to be able to turn on a dime. These sections are pretty finely tuned and aren't too lenient or tight but do require a solid grasp on the simplistic movement. On the puzzle side of things, the game builds up mechanics with intuitive infographic animations on most floors. It's up to you to path-find a feasible solution and order of operations. The boxes, keys, signs, conveyers, and lasers combine pretty well and make for some clever routes. The trickiest puzzles are the ones spanning multiple rooms, having to keep track of many timers, spikes, key doors, etc. at once, as well as the last key level requiring significantly more trial and error, in my opinion. The laser puzzles are my favorite with the mirror puzzles and "survival" segments. At the end of each portal room floor is a boss based on the mechanics of that floor. The bosses are pretty punishing as their attacks one-hit-kill you and have their most complex attack patterns on their last skull. The 5th boss especially needs tight jumps on certain attacks. The bosses are nevertheless learnable with all the telegraphed attacks and can be overcome with enough patience. The music selection and visuals are pleasant. I like that the music doesn't restart when you die, an annoyance of certain IWBTG fangames. I think the sound effect on death is a little too loud compared to other SFX, though. At 5 dollars, this game has a lot to offer in both puzzles and platforming challenges with a solid difficulty curve. I got the Green Ending as of writing this, but the Red Ending at 50% completion should be within reach of any skill level. GatePass is straightforward to jump into and worth a try!
The developer is actively working to make the game better and listens to player feedback
the puzzles are good. at least until ending 1, you might have a few stumpers and two or three levels that i worry may be demanding for people unfamiliar with platformers. the boss fights are enjoyable enough so far, though likely punishing to a casual or impatient audience - ive done two, and found the second to be much more fun than the first. ive only experienced one necoroneko boss before this, so i have high hopes. a common criticism of previous games by this developer has been the fact that lengthy levels combined with no undo, 1 hp, and unintuitive design forces tedious trial and error. i think the usage of timed blocks approaches this, but not as egregiously as elements in past titles, so again i remain hopeful that this pattern continues into endgame and postgame levels.
