Gary Grigsby is a genius, plus this is an educational game for Americans by showing that the Americans barely made a difference for the outcome of the war.
[h1] 7.5/10 [h1] most realistic strategy game. Unfortunately it has the worst GUI you can see. Even the neighbors kid would design better GUI than this. Controls are awful, game manages to lag in a modern PC. Otherwise this is a pretty cool game, just we need a remake of this.
Gary Grigsby’s War in the West is the closest you’ll come to commanding the entire Western Front without needing a Pentagon security clearance. It’s vast, demanding, and unapologetically complex. In other words, a dream come true for serious grognards. Every logistics chain, air sortie, and division-sized decision matters. If you’re looking for flashy graphics or instant gratification, look elsewhere. But if you crave historical depth, operational nuance, and the satisfaction of executing a well-planned campaign across dozens of turns, War in the West is as good as it gets. ⭐ 10/10 – "I came, I saw, I micromanaged."
Por ahora sólo he jugado los escenarios pequeños, y he empezado con alguno mediano, pero desde luego es uno de los mejores wargames que he jugado. Eso sí, extremadamente complejo, con lo que es muy recomendado leer el manual o ver tutoriales.
Awesome game! Has so much depth on many levels. Probably the most comprehensive WW2 western front game of all time!
I am sure this game is wonderful. However it has no in-game UI scaling or 4K monitor support. I couldn't read the text at all and have no desire to try and implement workarounds to get it working. Shame as it looks awesome.
do not buy. game is unplayable.
Great game overall, a little dated with the UI but if your a wargamer who enjoys WW2 this is the pinnacle of Western Front gaming.
One of the best.
Been playing for 10 hours and still have no clue what is happening
