Unusual racing game with a bit different approach. Collect fruits and mix them together to unleash various power ups. Car drivers representing each fruit and more each having its own special ability. Plenty of customization - change body, wheels, rims and color of your vehicle and save presets. Driving model is basic and feels a bit dull so don't expect advanced physics. Drift to gather boost however you can smash onto barriers and still maintain the drift. Controller support is fine except no vibrations. If playing on ultrawide monitor make sure to grab appropriate community fix. Music is average and sometimes doesn't fit. Tracks are mostly good and detailed so no complain here. Overall play if you're looking for something new but nonetheless game is mediocre at best.
I've played a lot of Kart Games on Steam...And All-Star Fruit Racing ain't it. Firstly, the enemy A.I is extremely overpowered and unbalanced. Secondly, what the hell are these horrific character models?? Visually (aside from the characters), the game looks good. The game-play and mechanics are quite fun and I loved the addition of a 'first-person' mode. But aside from that, this games is a hit and miss.
This game has the worst track designs I have ever seen.
Steam Review – All-Star Fruit Racing (2018) (3DClouds)
Played: ~2 hours • Status: stopped • Genre: arcade kart racer • Steam release: July 13, 2018 TL;DR Fun, colorful, and most importantly: the karts feel great to drive. But once the initial “wow” wears off, you realize the package is mostly just (re)racing—and for me it got old after a couple of hours. If you grab it for a few euros: solid snack. At (roughly) full price: nope. Story & progression Looking for a story? You won’t find it here. There’s no real narrative campaign—just a career-mode structure built around cups and different race variants, and you unlock things to customize your kart. The unlocks are fine, but for me they didn’t feel very rewarding: you can “pimp” your ride, yet it doesn’t change the experience enough to keep me hooked for long. Gameplay – where the game shines This is where All-Star Fruit Racing scores points: * Handling: the kart controls feel smooth and intuitive. * Juicer / power-up system a fun idea where you can stack, combo, and choose between “use now” or “save up.” It takes a moment to get used to, but once it clicks, it works surprisingly well. And the best part: if you fail, you’re usually genuinely better on the restart because you know the track layout. That says a lot about the flow of the circuits. Tracks & variety The environments look great and are very colorful, but after an hour or two I started feeling like I was seeing the same levels/segments again. Not badly designed—just not enough surprise to keep me engaged. Achievements – fun to pick at, heavy to 100% There are 45 Steam achievements. What you can expect: * Skill-based achievements like SWAG! (drift for 50+ seconds in one race) and The Perfectionist (win using only a single Mega-Juice move). * A lot of them boil down to “play the modes, win cups, learn the Juicer,” which is fun… but if you get bored quickly, it turns into more of a checklist than motivation. And if you do go for 100%: achievement trackers often suggest dozens of hours (e.g., fastest completion around 27h and a median around 36h). Trading Cards The game has Steam Trading Cards: 5 cards for the standard badge (with the usual emoticons/backgrounds). Price & value I wouldn’t pay “full price” for this, because for me the fun is mostly a few hours. If it’s on sale for around €2, that’s exactly the kind of price where the game makes sense: a short burst of fun without expectations. Technical / audiovisual Audiovisually it’s solid: great colors, good music, and decent sound effects. Storage-wise, it’s roughly a 3.29 GB.
Final verdict
+ Fantastic handling, fun Juicer combos, restarts feel rewarding/educational –Not much variety after a few hours, unlocks aren’t very rewarding, no story beyond cups Recommended on sale if you just want a cheerful kart-racing snack. Not ideal if you want something that stays interesting for a long time—unless you’re genuinely chasing achievements/cards. https://youtu.be/B1o-JpsqZ9s
The devs who made this game stupidly mapped the movement to WASD, when everyone is used to playing racing (on the keyboard) with the arrow keys… The worst part isn’t even that. They don’t give you the option to rebind the keys. It’s not enough that the game is generic—if that were the only problem, fine, you could manage… but generic and inaccessible for people who play with the other hand? Seriously, I’m never buying anything from these devs again.
Just a boring and not exciting racing game. Mediocre in every single possible way.
Crashes before you can even start a race. Not car crashed. Program crashes. BOO.
Any price is too high for a game that does not get past the title screen due to repeated crashes. Do not buy the game until this issue is resolved!
As much as I wanna play this game, it's literally impossible. The game doesn't last for longer than a minute (if even 30 seconds) before crashing. You literally CANNOT play the TUTORIAL before it crashes (if you even get the time to select it) Not worth it, not even on sale
