Frisky Business is, for all intents and purposes, a visual novel with crime solving and dating elements. While this combination sounds promising, the presentation and delivery are far from it.
I'm writing this review from the perspective of someone who actually wanted to read a mystery/crime solving VN. The breasts were a perk, but not all that important. I make this distinction only because I'm sure I'll be downvoted since boobs for cheap are a popular commodity. If you prefer to watch your reviews, here's a video: https://youtu.be/VuMqkn9RWuA The one thing that immediately broke the game for me wasn't even the overly massive knockers attached to the majority of the female characters, it was the lack of an opaque box beneath the text. In a visual novel. That meant that the white text was presented over the clothing of whomever was on-screen at the time and so it became progressively more difficult to read depending on what they were wearing. This was a very poor choice given the fact that the game is 99.9% reading and made it so that I had absolutely no desire to replay the game to get the other endings. The game is played with your mouse. You click, read, click some more--and sometimes you get a dialogue option or three which will effect the ladies' willingness to bend over backwards for you. More on that awkward little tidbit later. You play as Falco Frisk, PI, owner of the titular "Frisky Business" alongside your partner Charlie. The former is a silver-tongued playboy with suave good looks and the latter is a hapless nerd whose brilliance is outshined by his awkwardness. These archetypes and more are found throughout the game: the hardass female cop; the buxom blonde with more boob than brain; the fiery Latina that, for some reason, throws Spanish words into her speech as though to remind us that she's Spanish--you get the idea. The circumstances during which these characters meet are as such: there's a madman on the loose and, at first, it seems he's just a loon dressed as a clown until you realize that there's something much darker going on here. The police brush off the stalker as a harmless prankster and so it's up to you and Charlie to protect the three young women who are being heckled. Because why not? The game is divided into chapters--11 in all--and will take you roughly an hour to complete. During that hour, you'll spend a bit of time trying to figure out who the clown-faced criminal is, but mostly you'll hit on college-aged women. Badly. Seriously, most of Falco's lines would get an actual male kneed in the groin, but somehow the airheads in this game find him "clever AND funny" as one girl called him. I didn't buy it. And that was my problem with the entire Frisky experience: I didn't buy the dialogue that relied way too heavily on the clichéd character of the speaker, I didn't buy the fact that Falco, a supposed investigative professional, spent WAY more time seducing his wards than protecting them, and I especially didn't buy the fact that the game ended on what seemed to be a "to be continued" without even revealing the identity of the guy we spent the entire game trying to stop. The ending was so anticlimactic it seemed that the developer was acknowledging the fact that the plot was merely a poorly contrived excuse for Frisky to meet a bunch of women who he could set about seducing. The investigative aspects of the game allowed you to look at the evidence you've accumulated to gain information from Charlie, question the girls, and follow leads. Even if you skip these things the plot will move right on as though you didn't, so you're free to chase skirts. The "dating" aspect of this game would have been all well and fine if it had been even the slightest bit realistic. I managed to engage in a threesome during my first playthrough and it was as easy as inviting the two ladies over to my place after taking the time to first bang one girl. It was like the other girl, who I had flirted with on one other occasion by telling her she had a pretty name and nice jugs--just gave in... again, because why not? Frisky Business paints women in a bad light. I'm sure that's no surprise to you given that the Store Page is covered in women with unbelievably large breasts wearing next to nothing, but the pickup lines used and the reactions they recieve scream rapey male fantasy. As a woman myself, I was a insulted by just how easily these girls put out and how much sleaze they put up with. Near the end of each woman's dating path, you have the option to sleep with her. Don't get too excited as the mini game for the act is more than a little awkward. It consists of your partner in question in a static, sexual pose with you rubbing your cursor, which becomes a banana for whatever reason, over the sensitive bits of the female anatomy until a heart in the top left corner fills up. This will take 30 seconds at most, after which your partner presumably reaches climax with a single, awkward moan. I'm no stranger to these type of mini games and after playing Monster Monpiece, which uses the same system, or HuniePop, which has a lot more vocal response, Frisky Business's mini game left me feeling... dirty. .Pros.

The plot wasn't bad; I just wish it had been fleshed out as much as the endowments of the female characters had been.
The music suited the scenes well.
Achievements for finishing the game in different ways.
.Cons.

No text box. White text over a detailed background comprised of several colours--including white!--is hell to read.
No option to skip text you’ve already read or fast forward. These are also standard features of visual novels.
The rapey vibe of Falco's pickup lines.
A poor representation of women even for video game standards.
Archetypical characters and a predictable plot.
Dialogue options boil down to "Be a douche" or "Be nice." The outcome is very obvious.
About an hour of gameplay depending on how quickly you read.
Awkward sex mini game where you rub the mouse (the cursor became a banana for whatever reason) on different parts of the girl for about 30 seconds.
An anticlimactic ending. Why spend all that time trying a solve a mystery that could never be solved?
The writing isn't interesting enough to encourage the subsequent playthrough necessary to get the rest of the achievements. There's no manual save ability, so you can't save scum either, so achievement hunters beware.
.Bottom Line. If you're looking for a cheap, titillating experience, skip this one. It's not worth the headache of trying to read the white text without a solid text box nor is it worth the cringe-worthy sex mini game you're "rewarded" with after hitting on a girl with lines you'll probably never ever hear from an actual human being. I went in expecting at least a cheap laugh, but came away feeling not-so frisky.
If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs-up. Based on the images, there were two ways this game could've gone: 1. Self-aware, goofy fun with ridiculous characters, intentionally awful dialogue options and shameless service. 2. Cringy, pseudo-mature, self-serious drivel with the occasional "lol boobs" moment. I'm glad to say, after 1 playthrough, that they nailed the first option. I got a bad ending once I dropped all pretense of caring about the case more than the women, but the fun conversations, fast pace of the game and many options for diverging paths guarantee I'll go back and try to get different endings. And maybe not get horribly murdered next time... Seriously, it's cheap and it's a hoot. 100% Recommend.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Short, but sweet. Down to facts. PROS: - great cartoonish look that reminds me of an old German erotic games that I have played a long time ago (Lula: The Sexy Empire) - interesting story that keeps you peeled to the screen until you finish it - those mini games with girls are "interesting". Especially if you get the uncensor patch from the developers (HINT: check the message board for it). - funny dialogues where you can try and play a smartass, a charmer or a cold detective. Maybe even a combination of all three :) CONS: - no way to replay an already finished chapter. You need to start all over if you missed something or want to play something differently. That was my biggest grip with the game. - CLICKING. There is no fast forward or skip text option in this game. Not a problem on the first playthrough, but ..... - the game is short and I was able to finish it in two hours with some chapter restarts to see the other options. Final score: 8/10 Especially recommended when it's on sale!
First impression; got blasted away by waaaay too loud music, looked for Options, saw that there were no Options button, clicked Escape because hey this ain't my first rodeo, got to some kind of menue with some weird gun symbol that couldn't be clicked, save, load etc and a button with a music note on it. So basically music, and sound I assume, are either On or Off, NO volume controls! Biiiiiiig fat red flag there! Started the game, okay the dialogue's pretty good, a few missing spaces in sentences and the names of locations are pretty much all misspelled somehow, for instance it says Girl's House, when there's 3 girls living there, it should be The Girls' House. Picked Jenny because thought I'd go for the threesome route, goes pretty easy then wham, she hits me with some stupid trivia questions, wtf. A few quick searches aaaand, wth is this? A banana? Umm... So I start clicking around like crazy, okay you're supposed to fill that stupid crystal heart somehow? God this is stupid, so I click here and then uuuuh? Somehow make it through, then I finally realize you're supposed to click and rotate the banana anti clock-wise around her.... If you're thinking about buying this game only for the smut, let me repeat that sentence again for you, you click and rotate the banana cursor anti clock-wise around her, and that's it. Felt about as erotic and satisfying as dipping your arm into a clogged drain. Every single sex scene is nothing but that, anti clock-wise banana cursor rotation. No animations, just a still picture or two with some uninspired moan sound effects. Yeah you like that you life-less cut-away, you like me rotating the banana? *Ahrm* And this was with the "patch" installed as well! Seriously, I dunno if they were trying to be hipstery and ironic or something, dumb as ♥♥♥♥ though, completely pointless, I never thought I'd see the day where they managed to make sex scenes a negative instead of an added bonus, there is zero point in having them. If they were intentionally trying to troll everyone who bought this game, mission accomplished, but that's not how you get return customers. Anyways, continued, eventually got the threesome on my first try (more banana rotating) yadda-yadda aaaand bad end. So it turns out, that the only positive about this game, y'know the fun dialogue? Yeah, you're not supposed to have fun, if you pick the fun dialogue options, you lose. You have to suck up to everyone, including the *Minor Spoilers* creepy spore growing, gps implanting, k-pop look-a-like super nerd. How fun is that? Not a whole damn lot. I did a second playthrough anyways, got a good ending, if you can call it that (do not pick Lucy, ever). And it was just awful having to click and click and click again and again, if you're going to do a visual novel style game without using Renpy, at least program the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to have the same basic functionality! How bout a skip button, a save function that isn't auto-save, end credits that you can click away instead of having to sit through them TWICE. The collectible items you get from girls, there is no way to view them, so you might as well not be getting them at all. Can't replay scenes either (why ever would you want to though) so no gallery. And after the end credits stopped rolling, suddenly it stopped registering mouse clicks in the game, it worked in the menue, but I had to manually restart the game to get it to work again. TL:DR, as far as I'm concerned, there's only one reason to play this mostly broken game, for the dialogue, there is some slightly fun stuff in there, but like I said you get punished for picking those choices, so they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ THAT up too. I got it for 0,99Euro though, got some entertainment for uh, dunno half an hour or so maybe, maybe an hour, so there's that, but as a visual novel style game this one is extremely lacking.
Yeaaaahhhhh, I don't know about this title; every component feels pretty 'meh' even for five bucks. I wanna be kind to the game, but I can't recommend this to friends with a straight face. Obviously, this is a visual novel with minor choices-that-matter gameplay. The artwork isn't bad, but compared with titles like HuniePop and Negligee, it's just ho-hum. And, yeah, those titles are more expensive - I get that. The whole thing is a click-fest. The writing in Frisky Business is mediocre. The clown villian is campy, albeit generic. The storyline is super short. I completed the game once in just under an hour, AND nearly finished a second run in 15 minutes by skipping through stuff I had previously read. There are multiple endings, but it didn't merit more playthroughs for me. There are no options to review scenes like many similiar games. Frisky Business did have some good humor, though. I can't say I didn't mildly enjoy the playthrough, but I would recommend other visual novels wayyy before spending time with this one. Check out the two I mentioned above, and also Va11-Halla, Magical Diaries, and Hatoful Boyfriend (it would be a miracle if I got all those titles spelled correctly). Pros: +Humor is good +Characters were fairly well developed for such a short storyline +Multiple endings, but you have to slog through mostly repetitve story which dramatically shortens those extra playthroughs +There is a patch, at least +It's cheap Cons: -Artwork is so-so compared to competitor titles (and yeah, most of them are a bit pricier - but they are worth it) -No collection of scenes like many similiar titles -Music is generic -Story is certainly nothing special If you are really into smutty visual novels and have exhausted the better ones - give this a go, otherwise wait for a deep discount.
I think it was pretty funny. before you go and buy it know there is huge boobs on all of the girls. if that isn't your thing just don't buy it. It also has adult content that you can choose to add or not. its a simple game. simply using the left mouse and holding it around the banana areas will allow you to complete the mini games. I don't know if its there in the censored versions. i enjoy the artwork, music, and its not the typical storyline. now there are features that i think were lacking in this novel such as skipping, saving, more slots to save on, options to turn the music up/down, backlog to see text you might of clicked too fast. Currently if you do click you could miss it and there is zero way to see missed text. I'm not sure if there is enough to do a gallery. if they do a 2nd one i think it would be nice to see different body options besides just large breasts such as medium small etc. this way it might attract more customers. i also hope to see the same artist again. they did do a good job.
Wertung:
5/10 Atmosphäre 3/10 Story 6/10 Grafik 4/10 Sound 5/10 Spielmechanik 5/10 Balancing 5/10 Spielspass
Fazit:
Billige Begatterei.
5/10 Gesamtwertung
Nice game ..you are a detective and need to investigate a case where some girls are stalked by a creepy clown ..so if you have have that clownphobia then this game can scare you at some points ...but besides that is very nice and you can choose options that can lead in different endings ..and there is also some time for '' funny time '' with girls ! ..have fun and enjoy !
This game is aware that it's silly and I like that.
It was... an interesting experiment... ? I guess? It looks and plays like a freshman attempt at a visual novel, honestly I bought it because: A) Dirt cheap B) Killer clown C) Cartoon tiddies. Its not the most interesting VN out there, but I did get my moneys value, so consider this review a neutral-positive. Now join me, buy this game and live with the shame of having it forever in your game list!
