Freedom Fall is a surprisingly charming platformer that hooked me far more than I expected — the princess's sardonic wall writings are genuinely hilarious and give the game a personality you rarely find in the genre. Falling down a trap-filled tower instead of climbing up feels refreshingly different, and the level design does a great job of offering both easy and hard paths depending on how much of a challenge you want. The hand-drawn art, solid soundtrack, and frequent checkpoints make the whole experience feel polished and fun. The only real downside is that it's quite short — I finished my first run in about 90 minutes — so I'd recommend grabbing it on sale rather than at full price. If you catch it in a bundle or at a discount, it's absolutely worth your time.

The platforming feels slow, but not necessarily clunky. It's more on the easy than the hard side. The art is not for me, but I like the stuff smeared in the background so you have something to do while you fall. All in all, it's a decent platformer, but nothing to write home about.

It's REALLY good, and I'm hoping for a sequel.

A charming little platformer that last just long enough to not get stale.

I really enjoyed this game. It was simple fun with a quiet story told to you as you played through the game and survived the death traps thrown at you by the sadistic princess. Fiendishly difficult at times, but the learning progression through the game was steady and not too tormenting.

A thoroughly delightful upside-down platformer.
