Foundation is a grid-less, laidback medieval city-building game with a focus on organic development, monument construction and resource management.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.43/day in the week to Aug 27 → 5.43/day in the week after.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; GOG publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.
Updates
Build ids and update times come straight from Steam's PICS — the same source SteamDB reads. Patch history grows as we record new builds.

Cozy and challenging at the same time. It takes a bit of strategy and finessing to figure out. I'm still working it out, and can see that it would have a lot of playability even after completing a successful run through. The graphics are sweet and the sounds are relaxing. Options for how you want to play, I especially like that it doesn't make you fight battles in order to expand. The only downside is that it is addictive!
I'm changing my Review to "YES Recommend". But it's with strong caveats. I'm leaving my old notes below, as they are still valid. But the fact is, across the entire gaming market, this literally is the BEST city builder of all of them. Yes, even better than Manor Lords. And I can tell the Developer Spirit and intention is good, there's just still some wonkiness and bugs (but other games have it way worse). So if I would recommend any game for someone to sink their teeth into a city builder, this is it. If they don't like this, they won't like any of them. ======== <Older Review> I hate writing this as this has probably been the best city builder I’ve ever played. But as all of them end up, by the time you get to the late game, there’s too many complex systems and bugs that are breaking your playthrough. It prevents you from wanting to ever fire up a new game because you’ll know it will just end up bugged out again. - Keeping people housed is far too complex. They just say they need a house. But they don’t say why. I designate zones near where they live. But the land is too hilly I guess to build on. The same goes for Private Quarters, even though plenty exist they don’t know how to go to them. - It gets too hard to see what buildings are where. Too much micromanagement of building sub-parts and decorations to buildings, especially when I need to move them all to re-organize my layout. - It’s too hard to figure out where break-downs in production lines are occurring. Everything looks like they should be fine, and yet nothing is moving. - Villagers will become unhappy with their housing for no explained reason, then leave, then leave a gap in a production line somewhere that you don’t realize until it’s too late. And even then, you know there is a break somewhere, but have to hunt to find it like a Where’s Waldo book. - There’s a lot of time gates, like waiting for soldiers to go out, do missions, then come back. By the late game the 3x speed max is too slow. - I kept getting villagers bugged out on a bridge. So I built a second bridge. And they would get stuck on that too. Eventually this led to one of my final missions bugging out because one royal visitor got stuck and even though everyone else was 100% happy she was enough to fail the mission. I have no interest in loading this game up again.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.5/day in the week to Jul 21 → 4.2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is a great game to get lost in! I especially like being able to customize a game and play however easy or hard I want.
enjoyable builder, bit hard to figure out where to place things at the start but after a few tries I've gotten a bit better.
There's a lot of things I've needed to learn by asking google and reddit, that I wish was just understandable by the UI of the game. Things aren't explained as clearly in descriptions, if at all in some places. Beyond that, I've put 126 hours in the game and I never would put that much time into a game I didn't like. Probably the best civilization build game I've ever played. I'd tell anyone who likes these types of games to definitely give this one a try.
Well made city builder with enough challenge to replay over and over. It will take hours to build your city the way you want and then you might decide to take it all back down and rebuild... at least i did
