[b] Forgotten Sound 1: Revelation [/b] is a point&click adventure about a prince going on the dangerous journey to save his father. I know very little about [u] One Thousand and One Nights[/u] other than few mainstream adaptations.The game is fully voice acted but I only speak English so I had to read the subtitles. Unfortunately, Forgotten Sound is not a very good adventure game due to numerous mechanical and visual issues. Unless you are a diehard fan of the genre I would not recommend it without some significant updates. This game is notorious for freezing glitches and slowdowns which could happen just about anywhere. I had to reload the save file 3 times in 2 hours. Accordingly, I decided to save my progress every 5 minutes and that can be very distracting. Despite all of that I still beat the game in 90 minutes which is not "3 hours". If it worked as a game like this should it would be 1-hour experience. Some of the adventure games in this price range are 4-5 times as long. The interface was not great either. I had all kinds of problems with character not responding to commands or click detection. I did not enjoy the puzzle gameplay at all. The riddles were either too easy or the game just tells you exactly what to do. I will give the game the credit for having a hint timer and highlighter for interactable areas. There are also many minigames and they are all horrible. Even the jigsaw gameplay was annoying because of sluggish mechanics. Overall the game was just too linear and never made me think in an intuitive way. Honestly, the only things I like are the backgrounds and the story. I also do not like the art style as a whole (just the backgrounds). It has some 3D models that do not complement the painted environment. The character animation is very choppy. While I did not mind the cutscenes, they were kind of ruined by slowdowns. Both the art style and even the music quality was inconsistent. I am both upset and disappointed with the game and the store description. It is certainly not 3 hours especially considering how many issues I had that set me back. There are too many problems and I don't see how the developer could address all of them. If you really love this genre try to get it under $3. Forgotten Sound 1: Revelation is a construction kit game. The "developer" used the craptastic, deprecated WinterMute point and click video game construction kit, using premade level design tools so they could pretend they're an actual game developer. In fairness they did add their own art assets and voice acting (which is really bad and not in English). This point and click adventure, made by filling out forms and stuff in the WinterMute construction kit, has an Arabian Nights kind of theme, but ultimately if you do try to play this you'll find very poorly done point and click puzzles and incredibly frustrating bugs. The game crashed immediately when I clicked on "Help"... it's just an unpolished disaster. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like WinterMute should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", RSK Entertainment Permanent Way has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. Apart from the bugs, the game resolution is also locked, although even if you could change it, it would just scale up the mediocre artwork without improving visual quality... and since you can't run this at the native resolution of your display, that's an immediate failure. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the video game construction kit/toolset, WinterMute. This is a very poor quality toolset that's now abandoned, but was sometimes used by amateur/unskilled developers as it doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Forgotten Sound 1: Revelation has the far too high price of around $8 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $8 asking price for this game could get you games like "Assetto Corsa", "The Walking Dead" or "Mass Effect". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

Polecam osobom, które lubią poznawać eksperymentalną twórczość. Plusem tej gry jest niewątpliwie jej poetycki klimat utrzymany w charakterze bliskowschodnich opowieści. Urokliwa, klimatyczna muzyka w tle, interesujący styl graficzny utrzymany w poetyckim charakterze. Nie dziwię się jednak opiniom negatywnym. Gra posiada wiele niedociągnięć, gameplay i cała konstrukcja jest jakby chropawa, zabrakło ostatecznych szlifów, tak aby grało się w to przyjemmnie. Aby gra stała się atrakcyjna dla większej liczby graczy przydałoby się jeszcze (do wprowadzania poprawek) kilka dodatkowych par oczu profesjonalnych programistów i doświadczonych twórców gier. Konkurencja na rynku gier jest ogromna i sama poetyckość i egzotyczny klimat nie wystarcza, potrzebna jest jeszcze tzw. grywalność, której tu niewątpliwie zabrakło. Ja, mimo początkowych trudności w przyzwyczajeniu się do charakteru gry, zdołałam przejść całą 1 część, choć nie dlatego, że jakoś szczególnie mnie wciągnęła, ale raczej z ciekawości i chęci poznania dzieła tych ewidentnie początkujących twórców. 1 część gry polecam, choć z dużym wahaniem. Jest inna od całej rzeki gier nas zalewających, gdzie są zarówno hity jak i szlam, którego jest bardzo dużo. Wśród tej masy, Forgotten Sound odznacza się innym podejściem do przekazu jaki ze sobą niesie. Jednak z powodu braku profesjonalnych szlifów, jest to gra w dużej mierze niestrawna. Polecam ją więc tylko BARDZO wyrozumiałym graczom (i tylko na sporej przecenie). Ja sama miałam duże chwile zwątpienia i trochę się zmusiłam aby to przejść :-) Gra jest krótka. Jedynka i Dwójka to ewidentnie raczej 2 części gry niż 2 gry. Po drodze mamy do rozwiązania kilka/kilkanaście niezbyt trudnych puzzli. Zalecam częste sejfowanie gry- 2 lub 3 razy wyrzuciło mnie z 1 części gry. 2 częsci gry NIE POLECAM. Początkowo jest technicznie lepiej skonstruowana i mniej z nią problemów. Niestety, z powodu zabugowania pod koniec gry nie można jej skończyć. Więc nie można takiej gry polecić. Utknęłam gdzieś po około 3 godz. gry na ewidentnie zbugowanych puzzlach, gdzie jednak udało mi się jakimś cudem je przeskoczyć (choć nie ma funkcji SKIP w drugiej części gry), ale następne puzzle też były zabugowane (ciągle mnie z nich wyrzucało na pulpit) więc się już poddałam, mimo że do końca 2 części gry było już niedaleko. Uczciwie rzecz ujmując - gdybym miała drugi raz to kupić .... nie kupiłabym :-)
