Warning: Asset Flip!
Forest Curse is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Bell Studio, took a template from Unity, slapped a couple of asset flipped sprites on it, and dumped the results onto Steam as a cash grab scam. Bell Studio has shown a repeated pattern of ripping off Unity templates and dumping them on Steam. Don't believe me? Here's some other asset flips from exactly the same template, all shamelessly dumped on Steam as nasty cash grabs:

"Arena of Trials"
"Dungeon & Adventure"
"Book of Spells 2"
"Book of Spells"
"Magic Ring"
"Magic Runes"
"Magic Force"
Look for yourself... these are all exactly the same game! This unethical behaviour should be no surprise, as Enoops/Bell Studio are known asset flippers who've previously taken the work of real developers, changed the name and put their own name on it, so they can sell it on Steam and try to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's work. Take a look at this:

"Book of Shadows" = Polygon Western - Low Poly 3D Art Pack developed by Synty Studios
"Deadly Threat" = POLYGON Dungeons - Low Poly 3D Art by Synty developed by Synty Studios
"Driver Night Trip" = POLYGON - Construction Pack developed by Synty Studios
"Fast Wings" = Sky Flight Full Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"Little Adventure" = AB1 - Fantasy Platformer bundle developed by Yoyogames
"Little Adventure 2" = AB1 - Fantasy Platformer bundle developed by Yoyogames
"Mighty Vikings" = Polygon Vikings Pack developed by Synty Games
"Play a game with me" = Synty Studios developed by Polygon Prototype Pack
"Traffic Racing" = Traffic Racing complete kit developed by Codeer Studio
"Fog Racing Circuit" = Pro Car Racing 2 developed by MilySource
It's worth noting this guy has over a dozen fake/shell accounts he uses to try hide his identity and further mislead gamers into buying these fake products with fake reviews. Here's some:

Bell Studio
BHPG
Daniel Li
Enoops
FadyGames
Hardi
Infinity Code
Johan Games
Joi Max
Jony Dev
Lieb
LocalJamStudio
Louie Inc
Mikki-Boi
Nikita Morti
TNT Studio
And we're sure he'll keep adding more shell accounts to continue to run these fake game scams. The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Forest Curse" is just a basic Unity FPS game blueprint filled out with a bunch of stolen game assets including a "magic staff" asset, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips are an insult to both PC gamers and to professional game developers who create genuine, high quality PC games. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have. They make it harder for gamers to find genuine games made by honest developers. To cement the position of this asset flip as nothing but a cash grab, it was dumped onto cheap DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles very shortly after launch. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Bell Studio. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Is this game one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Forest Curse has the cash grab price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Fallout: New Vegas", "Planet Coaster" or "Bioshock 2 Remastered". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Bell Studio.

Forest Curse is an indie fantasy adventure developed and published by Bell Studio that takes a straightforward but engaging approach to the action-adventure genre. Set within a mysterious woodland consumed by a dark curse, the game casts players into a hostile environment where survival and escape become the ultimate goals. The premise is simple, yet it provides a solid foundation for an experience focused on exploration, combat, and uncovering the secrets hidden within the forest. Rather than attempting to deliver a massive open-world role-playing epic, the game concentrates on creating a focused journey through a dangerous and enchanted landscape. The heart of the experience lies in navigating the cursed forest itself. Every section of the environment is designed to reinforce a sense of uncertainty and danger, encouraging players to push deeper into the wilderness while remaining alert to the threats that lurk ahead. The setting successfully taps into classic fantasy themes, blending mystery and adventure into a world that feels isolated and unforgiving. The forest serves not only as the backdrop but also as a central character in the experience, constantly challenging the player through its hazards and hidden dangers. Combat plays a major role throughout the adventure, with players relying on a magical staff as their primary weapon. This choice helps distinguish Forest Curse from many other survival-oriented titles, giving battles a more mystical flavor. Encounters with hostile creatures are frequent, and the inclusion of boss battles suggests a progression system built around overcoming increasingly difficult foes. While the game does not appear to offer extensive RPG customization, the action-focused combat provides enough structure to keep players engaged as they advance through the story and work toward breaking free from the curse. Visually, Forest Curse embraces a colorful art direction that contrasts nicely with its darker themes. Instead of presenting a bleak and monochromatic world, the game uses vibrant environments to create a more visually appealing journey. This balance between beauty and danger helps the forest stand out and prevents the setting from becoming repetitive. The first-person perspective further enhances immersion by placing players directly into the world, making exploration and combat feel more personal and immediate. The game's atmosphere is strengthened by its soundtrack, which is highlighted as one of its notable features. Music and ambient audio are essential in a game centered on mystery and survival, and Forest Curse appears to use them to reinforce both tension and wonder. Whether wandering through quiet sections of the forest or facing powerful enemies, the audio design helps establish the mood and contributes to the overall sense of adventure. One of the game's strengths is its commitment to delivering a focused experience without unnecessary distractions. Players who enjoy compact fantasy adventures will likely appreciate the clear objectives and accessible gameplay structure. The combination of exploration, magical combat, boss encounters, and atmospheric presentation creates a package that is easy to understand and approachable for a wide audience. At the same time, those looking for deep role-playing systems, extensive character customization, or a highly complex narrative may find the experience somewhat limited in scope. Despite its relatively modest ambitions, Forest Curse succeeds in presenting a compelling concept built around survival, discovery, and overcoming supernatural threats. The cursed forest setting, immersive first-person viewpoint, magical combat mechanics, and emphasis on boss battles give the game enough personality to stand out among smaller indie releases. It may not reinvent the genre, but it offers a focused adventure that understands its strengths and delivers an experience tailored to players who enjoy fantasy exploration and action-driven gameplay.
