A chill 5 hour-sih game with some farming, exploration and combat. Starts out tough and gets easier as you find power ups. A good variety of spells to choose from hidden power ups around the map. Nice atmosphere and always satisfying to save the world from environmental destruction.
It makes me mad how little hype there is here. Hey dev, you need to market this! Do reddit posts, send codes to streamers, I'm not sure... This game is great so far- BUY IT!!!!!!
Are you tired of AAA games that cost 134 dollars and give you no enjoyment half the time. Then you should try this game out. This game has a neat soundtrack, it's pleasing on the eyes, and it's pretty fun to play. Did not expect to enjoy this type of game, but it was a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend, it's cheap and fun.
I got a chance to play this for a while this week (week of March 10th, 2024) and wanted to give my initial thoughts. In all honesty, I think it's got some great ideas and interesting mechanics that make it pretty fun. I did notice some things that might need to be looked into, though. First, let's talk pros: + The game itself is pretty easy to play in terms of controls. Nothing is too complicated, and while there is a combat mechanic, the game is fairly laid back/chill. +The seed planting mechanic is a good idea. I like how they paid attention to detail that planting certain types of seeds next to one another can cause other seeds to thrive a little more. +The music is relaxing, and they did a nice touch with transitioning the music for the enemy encounters as well. +The spells are pretty varied. A good amount of elements to choose from to start. Now, onto the cons and some things I picked up on: -If you run out of all mana for a spell, that spell disappears until you pick up another from one of the seeds you planted. This means you either need to back to your main area to harvest new spells, or you need to hope you can quickly plant seeds somewhere in the field and quickly reap them for spells. If you can't, you're pretty much forced to go back. Some kind of either basic attack or even some kind of slow mana regen mechanic would make this a bit better. -The trailer/videos for the game make it seem like it runs very quickly/smoothly. I do notice some choppiness to the game. I wouldn't necessarily call it a lag, but I'm running it on pretty decent gaming rig and the animation seems a little slow. There are no options to change any graphical settings, so I'm wondering how the video showed the animations to be faster than the actual gameplay. -The spells are really fun to play with, but they seem pretty overpowered in *most* cases, and yet there are cases like the Heal spell where when it gets stronger, it doesn't seem to heal as much or with enough of a difference that it matters. Perhaps something can be tweaked here, and perhaps being able to combine spells / cross-breed them would create some more experimentation. -The enemies are not tough. I died once during playtime, and beat the game in roughly 2 hours. Adding just a bit more variety in enemy patterns/toughness could have added a bit more to the game. -No windowed mode option. I like to play some games not in full screen mode, so adding an option like that would be helpful. All in all, for this being something made by 3 people, it's a decent game and has lots of potential! I would highly recommend it if you're into something that's a little more relaxing than challenging and have a few bucks to spare.
I have really enjoyed this game so far! The graphics are fun and and the game play is seamless. I can't wait to unlock new areas and see what they have in store for me. 10/10! Thank you for releasing an instant classic!
The game has a really chill vibe and relaxing air. Unfortunately, it also seems to require a QWERTY keyboard layout. I don't use one, and even when adding it to my input methods I'm not able to control my character. Weird. Unplayable for me, and unlikely to get updated given the last one was a year ago as of this review being written. Ah well.
Early review as I've only just started playing, but have to say the concept is pretty unique and I love the pixel visuals. Also just unlocked a fun achievement for filling the main menu with flowers. I love little easter eggs like that! I'll update this with more impressions later on ^^
I honestly love the concept for this game. It's really simple, but its executed so well. This game is really fun.
I can feel the love and attention that went into this game. I sat down and didnt look away for 45 minutes straight. Id recommend it. It is well worth the price! really good value to time trade off Pros: Super peaceful and relaxing, most of the time. It can get a little bananas The Music is really chill and there are like musical notes that highlight when you shoot stuff that is just so satisfying. You can control elements like a shootem up too grow gardens, i mean cmon thats awesome Easy to grasp concept that quickly expands into layers of complexity constant feeling of getting better and game progression. Plants grow into unique spells, got me out here being a murder gardener and I love it. you are an animated living flower mage. enough said. Cons: The Initial loading screen was a little pixelated, more so than the rest of the game. One of the songs has a high pitched sound that is a little distracting at times. I got a few frame drops every now and then, but that could be my baked potato of a computer. All things considered, this is an awesome game, its got surprising depth and the sound design really makes it a unique experience that I recommend you give a try. Its completely worth the price. Its impressive to be made by one developer especially. Give it a whirl, and frag out flower man
