found this game from the dev logs on youtube. loved the demo and played this on my steamdeck when it came out. honestly, it kinda felt like there was more in the demo than there is in the full release? i had several hours on the demo but i just got bored of the full release. I swear i remember something about multiple maps or something in the demo but I could be wrong. Honestly debating if I should refund but I don't think I will since I'm not sure what else I'd buy with the money and hopefully future updates will help. Would also love if the game got better optimization so I can play it on my laptop and not just my pc but that's just a wish. (the attached specs are my laptop, not my pc or steamdeck)

If you enjoy the gameplay loop of Vampire Survivors, you'll likely also find enjoyment in Flock of the Seraphim. The waves and arenas are smaller, and the upgrade system foregoes abilities and synergies in favor of a more simple stat-boosting approach, but the gameplay of "auto-attacking while avoiding enemies", a decent flow of dopamine from grabbing stat rewards (crosses and chests), and a good chunk of unlockables make for a pretty fun and rewarding bullet heaven. P.S. Thanks for leaving in the Jack-O Pose, dev!
Games like this are why I wish you could give a 'mixed' review on Steam. This isn't a bad game by any means, and it's dumb fun if you just want to turn your brain off and run in circles for 10 minutes or so, but each run is extremely barebones with little to no decision-making whatsoever: 1. You can gain up to 4 (or 6, with upgrades) angels per run, but since you can upgrade angels you've picked up between runs and start each run with them, you're rewarded for just using the angels you already have. 2. Angels start with randomized weapons, and you can mix and match them, but since their upgrades affect all angels of their weapon type, you're seemingly incentivized to just use 6 of the same exact weapon type every single time. 3. The upgrades you gain during each run from level-ups, chests, and crosses are genuinely the most barebones I've ever seen in a roguelite, period. You have fire rate, damage, crit rate, crit damage, reload speed (even on weapons that don't reload, for some reason, making it a literally useless upgrade at times), attack size (only for some weapons), and luck (which affects upgrade rarity). There are a handful (6 or so) of unique upgrades you can gain, ranging from healing on reload and damaging all nearby enemies on reload, but you get them randomly from chests, meaning there's zero decision-making regarding your build in each run. 4. There's little to no variety in the gameplay. There's a handful of enemies, including small cannon fodder and higher health variants, exploding spiders, eyeballs that shoot projectiles, and a single boss that doesn't do anything on her own except spawn infinite flying demon guys right in your face. There are 3 stages, and she's the boss on every single one of them. 5. The game itself is incredibly buggy, with enemies not only getting stuck in the floor and on walls, but also spawning directly in front of you while you're moving, giving you barely a fraction of a second to avoid them in many cases. 6. The game's UI is very unpolished. It's not just that it looks bad, but that it's missing basic QoL that even solo dev projects tend to have - like having an indicator for which option you've selected in the angel menu, or displaying any information about what the 'permanent upgrades' you get from completing challenge modes are (seriously, what do they even do??). If this was an Early Access title, at least we could know that we'll be getting more updates down the line to flesh this game out. As things stand, though, it's hard not to imagine the dev cutting and running with their bag, since they have no real incentive or responsibility to continue. Just know what you're getting into if you get this game - the art is cute, the basic controls are fine enough, but there's very little content here beyond repeating stages to grind up money to use on angel upgrades you don't need and that don't improve the gameplay at all.
This game has many weapon styles and playstyle unlike other bullet hell rogue lite games :D also you can collect little cute angels who gives u passive and they have weapons too . i recommend getting 2 cross collector angel for stat based gameplay :D this game is sooo good . its aldready good but would be more better if we can get updates in future .
Game is really fun, been waiting for it to release since January and was excited when it finally released. Having multiple types of angels makes it fun to experiment with what loadout you want to have. Sure the games does have its fair share of bugs but with time I believe those bugs will be patched and make the gamer even better.
Art style is top notch but the gameplay experience is dull. The angels do not unique builds to explore apart from minor passives. There no synergy to build off different types, it is just number go up without any good substance.
I just started playing Flock of the Seraphim and I absolutely adore it! It takes me back to the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1 era with its charming graphics and cute chibi characters. The gameplay is super fun, as it combines a roguelite format with an inviting atmosphere. What I love most is the simplicity and joy in each run. The levels are colorful and imaginative, making each playthrough feel fresh despite the roguelite mechanics. Plus, the little characters are just the right amount of adorable! Overall, it's a delightful experience for anyone looking to relive some retro vibes while enjoying a modern twist. <3
