Уж не знаю за что был любим оригинал и какую часть этого унаследовал ремейк, но шедевром эту игру не назвать. Откровенно похвалить можно разве что дизайн персонажей, но не характеры, которые слабо раскрываются в кринжовых диалогах и катсценах. Геймплей в попытке скрестить слешер и jRPG получился слабым в обоих аспектах, слешерная часть совсем примитивная, тактическая и билдостроительная тоже слабоваты, хотя и чуть лучше. Бои временами разбавляются мини-играми, чье качество варьируется от унылых до средних, и двумя секциями на мотоциклах, неплохими для своего экранного времени. Сайдквесты это вообще позор, принеси-подай-убей, без каких либо интересных историй или геймплея, но делать их всё равно приходится ради прокачки. Сюжет о противостоянии эко-террористов со злой корпорацией тоже не слишком интересен, корпы картонно-злодейские, а моральная сторона последствий терроризма просто заметается под ковёр. Другая интересная арка, с ПТСР главного героя и его взаимоотношениями с главным антагонистом в этой части тоже не получает развития, кроме туманных намёков. Вместо этого, почти всю первую половину игры составляет унылый филлер ни о чём. Вторая половина намного лучше, но она не окупает потраченное на первую время. Чем пилить оригинал аж на 3 части, лучше бы они выкинули все эти филлеры и сайдквесты и запилили одну крепкую историю, но увы.

This was better than some would have led me to believe. Way better! Yes, there are some flaws like pacing issues, bloating, padding, some sections going on longer than they need to. But god does this game have so much charm and passion put into every corner. The characterisation is a big improvement over the original, this cast has never been better, I love them so much. Listening to and seeing all their interactions, scenes, banter in combat and exploration is wonderful (Barrett is a highlight in this game for me!). The combat system was one I wasn't sure of at first cause modern FF games can be hit or miss with real-time combat.. but it really delivers. I do think hard mode should have been accessible from the start; it's the best way to get into its systems. There's a lot the game just doesn't bother telling you though, so it's easy to miss small but important mechanics in combat. I wish the VR simulation Summon fights were organically fought in the world, but I do get how that wouldn't really work as well in the Midgar section. SOME SPOILERS BELOW! I have some misgivings about certain story elements like the usage of The Whispers as a plot armor device. It's interesting, but sometimes used in silly ways. Keeping Wedge alive to, what, kill him off anyway near the end? Pretty unceremoniously too! Unless it's a misdirect and he isn't really dead, but still, what's the point? I'll have to see how this all pays off as the games go by (Rebirth for me next of course). And "killing" Barrett off just to have one of the Whispers bring him back to life immediately? I don't see the point of that. Other than that though, I loved the story, and I can tell that it's intentionally set up for future games that will more than likely all pay off in Revelation next year. I can't wait!

A very nice modern final fantasy。 The graphics are very good 8-9/10（as typical FF games are）， the combat is pretty satisfying （8/10 for a FF game）（although Rebirth has even better combat imo）， and the story is decent （7-8/10）。 I don't know why， but the cutscene graphics just feel better than Rebirth and they also feel slightly more meaningful。While I do enjoy Rebirth improving combat， movement， and less linear sections， I think FF Remake Intergrade is probably the better choice。Although it takes up a lot of space （～110 gb） it is better than Rebirth's 170 gb size and it runs well on my M1 Mac （～40-60fps）。 Overall， 8-9/10
