Im biased because im a fan boy. i love ff7

I played the main game on PS4 and on PC I only played the integrade DLC because I missed it on PS4. I wouldn't say the DLC is a must have but in sale it was worth it to play it on PC since the graphics is better and the game runs much smoother.
I'm giving this game a thumbs up because again there isnt an option to give a middle rating. Its a Final fantasy mainline game, its polished, it feels good enough to play, its not jank, you're going to get a decent game. Is my favorite game? no its extremely forgettable so far. im not finished with the main story yet on steam, but i did beat the game on ps4 when it came out, but i have completed all the way through chapter 17 (18 is the last) on steam. Take in mind, ya girl is an OG 7 fan that grew up with the original 7, im not the biggest fan of this so called "remake". As said before i tried playing on ps4 and i practically forgot a whole chunk of the story and typically Squeenix games leave a lasting impression on me. this one did not, i played it for a second time hoping i would see it with a renewed vision and try to not look at it from the lens of being an OG 7 fan and the differences between them being so much. "IT'S not the same story and its not supposed to be" i told myself, and challenged myself for a second playthrough since hearing the 3rd game of the remake trilogy is releasing next year. I wanted to buckle down and work my way through a second time with this revitalized view, on the game and seeing it as a different game entirely, because it is. My entire thoughts: Slow progression, lots of filler story wise, doesnt give you the RPG feeling that prior games have, the story is good but the content to progress it feels like a slog, lots of meaningless filler content and pointless side content for completionists like myself, still entertaining and good but has a hard time keeping player retention it seems by achievement scores, great story when you get to the meat of the story and loved characters returning but with lackluster development in comparison to other mainline titles that i wish newer players to the franchise got to see with this title. I REALLY want to love this game i really really do, but its just flat out a very middle of the road experience that i get at least enough enjoyment on the good story bits and some boss fights to push through to the end. I want to see where the second and third game in the trilogy go and im dying to see how i feel on those because this one is just not my favorite personally but i know a lot of people who loved it and the linear stages and the action combat style gameplay it brought. If you want to push through all the slog fest content and side content the game is certainly worth your money for the hours it gives, but thats up to how you think on what should be worth your money and time or not. Anyways enjoy loves <3 have a fun time gaming kupo! Lali-ho!
Bon Jogo
