The Unknown Journey Continues... After escaping the city of Midgar, Cloud and his friends set out on a journey across the planet. New adventures await in a vibrant, expansive world in this standalone entry of the FFVII remake trilogy.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Epic, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Brilliant game. Some technical difficulties, that can be solved with some mods, but putting those aside, the game is an absolute masterpiece. Also, hi Zack again!

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Same day: best CA #19, worst CN #73 · 11 markets collected
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.33/day in the week to Aug 4 → 40/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

cactuar crush gave me a burn-out, actually cactuars in general did. i get shivers when i think of starting the game up and i cant finish it for now. save me
After having 100% completed this game, it is clear that each individual developer is very good at what they do. However it feels like each member of the team was cordoned off and told to only make one very specific part of the game in isolation, while broader leadership was working off a checklist of what “other bestselling games have in them”. While they worked down that checklist however, at no point did the wider team take a step back and ask “is our game actually good or even fun to play?” Because the answer to that question is a resounding ABSOLUTELY NOT. Rebirth is a typical open world game where you go to a new region, get the same set of sidequests and optional objectives and has a few minigames, all of which long overstay their welcome. By the time you 100% an area, or even do the bare minimum to grind out some XP and levels to push on to the next part of the story, you don’t feel invigorated or excited. You feel like you’ve just finished a gruelling day at work. The combat is just as much a slog as the optional content is. The devs still have their deathgrip on the FFXIII stagger mechanic style combat and will not let it go. You still have to learn every enemy’s attack patterns and weaknesses to fill the stagger meter and once they are staggered, dump all of your major abilities into them in the short time window you have before stagger runs out. You have to stagger an enemy to activate the countdown of your ability to summon too. Problem is, by the time you are ready to summon, the fight’s over, or the enemy is so tough that the summon is not even worth the effort. Outside of that stagger window, you deal effectively no damage. My max level Barret with the best weapon in the game and his talent tree specced for max damage is still doing single digit critical hits of damage per bullet at the end of the game against enemies with health pools measured in the tens of thousands. The story makes little to no sense. The parts of the story the devs changed from the original appear to have been done without clear reason. Many long running sub-plots just abruptly end with no closure and in the most non-sensical way possible. EG: Cloud and Tifa make it back to Nibelheim, they see the town still standing and run into town. The mayor approaches them and they ask him what happened to the town. With absolutely no stalling he says “yes, this town is fake. We rebuilt it.” Cloud asks “Why!?” The mayor says “because Shinra said so. Um…. Um… UMMMMMMM P-PLEASE LEAVE” before turning and running back inside the town hall. Cloud and Tifa never question it again, that’s the end of that entire major plotline. I also generally prefer to try and leave politics out of it, but having 100% completed all side content, it’s impossible to ignore. This game is very much built for an American modern audience. Every single white man you interact with is an incompetent sleezebag. Every single black person you interact with is just a really good person who’s down on their luck and just needs a hand to get going in the world. Not a single time is this racial stereotyping deviated from in any part of the game. They even went so far as to completely rewrite Cid’s story to be this way too, making him out to be nothing more than some no named basic Shinra employee who was a simp for Aerith’s mother and is now sleezing on Aerith. The ending of Rebirth’s story also made absolutely no sense and I fail to see what coherent plotline the devs will pull together in the third game. I am fairly certain they are literally flying by the seat of their pants and have run out of nostalgia trips they can pull out of FFVII, so they have begun pulling member berries from other iconic parts of the Final Fantasy franchise (like getting Aerith to do Yuna’s summoning dance ritual or having Cloud on the grassy hill at the end, a-la FFI Warrior of Light). Doesn’t really work when they have nothing to do with FFVII. All in all, this game was extremely shallow, unfulfilling and left me confirming yet again that AAA is no longer able to competently make games. I bought Remake and Rebirth on sale together and they were still not worth even a fraction of that. I will not be buying the third game at all. What’s worse is that the lack of direction from management won’t be punished, the devs who are good at their jobs will be when it’s time for the next round of layoffs.
1) The open world is a complete waste of time. It’s just an Ubisoft-style checklist filled with mindless activities. I skipped it entirely and lost nothing. 2) There is a rage-inducing amount of mini-games and annoying mechanics tied to them. 3) The mid-game completely loses the plot. Why add this much bloat to a classic story? I will definitely be skipping Part 3 (or just watching/reading a recap) if it follows this same pattern.
Imagine your old friend, Cloud, wants to come visit for dinner. You haven't seen him for 20 years and he wants to pop over to play FF7. But at the last minute Cloud invites Terry - who wants to play Mario Party. Terry invites Steve, who wants to play Generic Open World Crafter. Steve invites Richard, who wants to play Temu Hearthstone. Richard invites Gary, who wants to play Task Simulator. And Gary invites George, who wants to press Triangle Triangle Triangle Triangle every so often to solve the game's most challenging puzzles. Last but not least: Chadley, an annoying NPC who was never in the original, invites himself over and spends 80% of the evening talking over everybody (he must have more voice lines than Cloud and Sephiroth combined) The music is phenomenal and the prologue mostly hits the right notes. But it quickly descends into slop territory. Everything is designed to slow you down. Unskippable animations, too many mini-games even in the main story, and pushing minecarts very slowly from point A to point B. Because, when the best Shinra SOLDIER in the world is accompanying you on that first mission, you really actually want to be vacuuming mako (very slowly) from the ground on 3 occasions like its Cleaning Simulator, rather than continuing to enjoy the best action and story the game has to offer. For the ratio of side quests to main story missions, the side quests are uninspiring and over-padded with dialogue. The combat is good, but there are instances where enemies are defeated before ATB or summon gauges even fill up, to the point where I have not been able to use two of my summons in battle yet. Overall, FF7 Rebirth certainly has it's amazing moments, but it demands too much patience from the player.
Thumbs mid. This game is truly slog with awful combat and a terrible open world. the tasks are bad and reptitive. the story is what you'd expect, I hope the third one improves on everything. I dont see how you could enjoy this combat.
