Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a massive expansion over FF7 Remake and an incredible adventure packed with content. Its world is dense with detail, its cast is fantastic, and there's always something meaningful to discover. As a longtime FF7 fan, I found it wonderfully nostalgic, but it also surprised me by expanding the story in fresh and unexpected ways. I also hope Rebirth resonates with newcomers and younger players. It's clear this is a lovingly crafted game that respects longtime fans while welcoming a modern audience with an engaging story, fun and challenging combat (that still attempts to replicate the old turn-based charm) and unforgettable adventure. That said, the open world does lean into some modern design trends. At first, I worried it would fall into the familiar "Ubisoft checklist" trap of repetitive busywork. Instead, I found most of the optional activities enjoyable because they encouraged exploration and gave me more time with a world and characters I already loved. Side quests also do more than hand out rewards; they add meaningful character moments and strengthen relationships. There are a huge number of minigames, along with plenty of playful nods to other games. Run Wild, for example, feels heavily inspired by Rocket League. More than anything, Rebirth feels like a love letter to gaming itself and to the adventurous spirit of the original Final Fantasy VII's middle chapters. It won't be for everyone. Some players will see parts of the expanded content as filler, and some purists will dislike the story changes. But it's worth remembering that the 1997 original also embraced plenty of silliness and quirky minigames. Overall, I think Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an ambitious, heartfelt, and faithful expansion of both FF7 Remake and the original Final Fantasy VII. It's overflowing with personality, charm, and heart, and if you're willing to meet it on its own terms, there's an unforgettable adventure waiting for you. I can't wait for Final Fantasy VII Revelation more than ever.

I can tell this game is going to be a complete slog only 10 minutes in. Less is more is something these devs have clearly never heard.
20 fps on low settings in 1080p, already tried windows too
Not recommended. The open world is boring, and the mini-games are dull, repetitive, and annoying.
I have picked this game up and dropped it a few times now. A few of the areas are fun gongaga sucked cosmo canyon sucked just big empty places with terrible transversal. The music is a mixed bag for me I prefer the original music significantly. The combat is interesting in the beginning then quickly looses its luster. Having to find a chocobo in each segment was a chore that was not very fun. The towers to get info were not well done and the maps are just big and uninteresting. If you are getting this on a significant sale its worth it if not I would avoid it but that is up to you. I havent beaten the game yet I will update the review afterwords.
Granted I'm still early into the game (a little past Chapter 1), but I don't get all the negative reviews here. Plays buttery smooth for me and looks fantastic (was planning to play on Switch 2 but it looks awful there). Story is interesting, cool settings, great combat, and lots of side content/mini games to your heart's content (much like Intergrade). What's not to like?
needs A CONTROL PAD
Game looks really beautiful, but runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hot garbage with an extra steamed pile of ♥♥♥♥ on top. Occasional stutters, sometimes the game would straight up freeze my entire PC. Unreal Engine slop at its peak
