Featuring fully voiced dialogue, beautifully enhanced graphics, and countless gameplay improvements, the genre-defining tactical RPG makes its long-awaited return.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
About

Ivalice—a kingdom blessed by the light of the gods and ruled by the Two-headed Lion. A year after her defeat to Ordallia in the Fifty Years' War, the king succumbed to malady, leaving a mere boy of two to ascend the throne.
Whoever was named regent would rule in truth, and thus emerged two rival candidates: dukes Goltanna and Larg, whose deeds during the war had earned them great renown. Goltanna the Black Lion and Larg the White Lion were destined to clash, and the resulting conflict would come to be known as the War of the Lions.
Against this backdrop appear Ramza, third son of House Beoulve, one of Ivalice's leading military families, and his childhood companion Delita, a commoner raised amongst nobles. As they endeavor to chart a course through this tumultuous age, a mighty current draws them ever closer to the abyss.

Lead your party in exhilarating encounters where strategic positioning and forward planning determine the outcome. Use the varied terrain of 3D battlefields to your advantage, skillfully manipulate the turn order, and victory will be yours for the taking.

Combine a wide variety of jobs and abilities to craft your very own strategies.
As your party members grow, they will gain access to more jobs, each with its own unique abilities. Once learned, abilities can be used even after changing to another job. With over 20 jobs to master—including white mage, black mage, dragoon, and many others from the FINAL FANTASY series—and hundreds of abilities to learn, you have the freedom to experiment and discover the combinations that best suit your party. Chocobos and other creatures can also be tamed and led into battle.

With improved graphics, fully voiced dialogue, and refined gameplay, the enhanced version provides the perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of Ivalice. Along with the fine-tuning of several features and battle mechanics, the inclusion of the more accessible "Squire" difficulty setting makes the enhanced version an excellent starting point for first-time players.
The classic version unites the graphics and gameplay of the original 1997 version with the renowned War of the Lions translation for a unique way to experience this beloved title.
The Enhanced version of the game supports a wide variety of controller options.
It also supports keyboard and mouse controls.
The Classic version of the game only supports XInput controllers.
Keyboard controls are also supported, but mouse controls are not supported.

Reviews

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Same day: best CA #59, worst AU #92 · 9 markets collected
US · last 30 days
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.67/day in the week to Aug 5 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm a fan of strategy games & FF, so been a long time coming on playing this one. Gameplay was fun, story was engaging & world-building was excellent. Music was good & so were the characters. Amazing :)!
Few changed to get used too, but other than learning curves on new... other than that, pretty much as i remembered the game, love the way you can have multiple battles without moving a single space, 10/10 Nostalgia with upgraded graphics !
I had technical issues which conveniently extended past the 2 hour refund window. I have a laptop purchased in 2025 with fully updated drivers, should be more than enough for a game like this. A few other people on the forums (I won't patronize you with a link) reported a similar issue with no resolution. It seems non-recommendations are our only way to express dissatisfaction now. I've acquired an original copy of the game and I'll be playing that instead
Game-play: 8/10 | Story: 8.5/10 | Music: 9/10 | Replay-ability: 9/10 | Fun: 8/10 Overall Score: 8.5/10 I went looking for more turn-based games to scratch my Fire Emblem itch and accidentally found one of the best stories Final Fantasy has ever told. I didn't even realize Tactics was a Final Fantasy game until it popped up in my search. Now it's one of my favorites in the series. Tactics is definitely an outlier compared to other Final Fantasy games. I've only played a handful, but this one stands out! If you love Fire Emblem, this will be right up your alley. It's not the same, and I won't claim it's better than FE (that probably has more to do with how long I've played FE and how used to those mechanics I am), but it's a very good game, and it deserves to be talked about more. The remake looks beautiful, and the love and time put into this game and its story is phenomenal. The story gives off Game of Thrones vibes (but better), with a wild ending after the credits that made me gasp. I wanted Delita and Ramza to be best friends forever, but this is not a friendship-is-magic kind of game. It's dark, gritty, and dramatic, and I love all of it. The music is great. The characters are great. The plot is great. There's a bit of that FF flair near the end that feels almost rushed, but not enough to deter me. My only real gameplay gripe is the camera. Sometimes the controls felt wonky, and I'd have to angle the camera just right to see what I could and couldn't do. There were a few instances where I moved a character into the wrong spot and had to live with the consequences. The bard class is a favorite, and the extra side characters are absolutely worth picking up. Ramza as a monk with the ability to hit twice made the game so much easier. There's some grinding, but once you're comfortable with a couple of characters, there are only a few spots where you really need to pay attention to your gear and how you fight. Otherwise it was just challenging enough. This isn't a game for people who want an easy time. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a strategy challenge with an amazing story attached.
I’m not a huge fan of the FF saga, but I’m very passionate about grid-based, turn-based tactical games. I thought this title might make up for my lack of interest in the franchise, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. The game feels like a title that has aged really poorly, and even the recent remake fails to remedy this. There are games out there today—even from indie studios—that are vastly superior in terms of gameplay and mechanics. The various attacks (and healing spells) are heavily affected by an RNG factor I just can't forgive: it’s ok for an attack to miss, but a heal—or even a resurrection—shouldn't. This is especially frustrating when it happens in critical situations, repeatedly, or with AoE spells; I tried to cast Haste on three characters with my Time Mage, and it missed all three. Then there’s the issue of farming and grinding: leveling up jobs and raising Bravery/Faith stats (which aren't even clearly explained in-game) is a long, tedious process. It forces the player into lengthy sessions of slaughtering monster after monster just to level up characters and build them the way they want. That might have been acceptable years ago, but not in 2026.
