Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 4.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

An absolutely delightful entry in the franchise. It features an unforgettable and lovable cast of characters and a story that kept me excited and engaged from the start to the very end. Finishing the game and having to say goodbye to the world and characters was honestly difficult and brought a bittersweet sadness. A real treat which sits all the way up there next to Final Fantasy VII for me.
One of the last "true" Final Fantasy games set in an actual classic fantasy setting. A great game, made even better with the Memoria Mod manager(More on that later). Party of 4 returns instead of 3 like in FF7 and FF8. The main cast of characters are probably my favourite in the series. Although the villains lack the sense of threat like Sephiroth and Kefka of FF7 and FF6, respectively. Now for the Memoria Mod installer; This amazing project has extremely simple steps to follow (Guides on how to install available) and enhances the game to a great extent. Optional cheats, 120fps, gameplay tweaks and even a visual upgrade if you install Moguri Mod (which is the only mod I installed with Memoria TBH) Overall a great game no matter which way you play it, but if the old visuals bother you then the mods do exactly what we can't trust SE to do.
Absolutely amazing game. I am playing all the games in order and this one is the best one so far. Pros: -Stunning visuals, so much better than FF8 that is hard to think they are only 1 year apart (I installed an upscaled textures mod but that just makes what already exists even better, and I 100% recommend that you use one as well). -Very good gameplay but maybe half the playtime is cutscenes/dialogue (not saying its a bad thing). -Compared to older titles it is finally starting to become easier to know where to go and what to do for the main quest. As well as a simple to understand and use combat system (unlike the annoying FF8) while still having some depth to it. -Really lovable characters and interactions between them. You can see and feel the love, the friendship, the care put into everything throughout the game even from simple interactions. -A perfect story, fully fantasy themed, with no confusing paradoxes(FF8) or twisting and hard to understand relations (FF7 in some aspects). Cons: From the FF games 1-9, with this one I have the least amount of complaints but I will list them anyway as a full picture has to be presented: -not a fan of the Chocobo quests at all because of how they are tied to too many rewards and how long they are. They are optional and that's great, but I think that maybe more than half of the ultimate weapons as well as some cool accessories are locked because you have to do the ALL the stupid Chocobo quests. If you haven't been doing them constantly throughout the game and towards the final parts you suddenly realize that you must do them in order to get a lot of items that you need, then you might as well not even bother because it takes hours. As opposed to other normal sidequests that are self contained and take <30min. And sometimes you do a random sidequest, just to get to the end of the guide and realize that you need some idiotic Chocobo ability just to get the final item that you wanted, so you just wasted your time doing 90% of the quest. -some playable characters are annoying which happened to me in FF7 with Caith Sith, Yuffie and maybe Cid. And in FF8 especially with Rinoa partly, Selphie and Irvine. in FF9 its not that bad but i completely hated Quina. Steiner only a bit in the first half of the game but he grows on you, and himself as a person. Conclusion: I know the cons are longer than the pros but that doesn't translate to my enjoyment of the game because I enjoyed 99% of it to the fullest.
i liked this game because it taught me that no matter what so long as you walk into a battle with a shotgun you usually win
I'm really sad I missed out on the FF series as a kid this slaps. I really want a remaster for this game though....
never play the card game
This game is beautiful. The music The characters are all likeable The setting The dialogue The way the characters interact with each other The PS1 aesthetic... Everything was amazing Only downside is the combat but besides that this game is a must play. 9.5/10
