Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

PEAK FICTION ACTUALLY SO PEAK
English Version (french below) : Definitely one of my favorite Final Fantasy, and my favorite 2D Final Fantasy. The music is excquisite, even for FF standards. The story and the characters are just so charming, and each character having their own little mechanic just reinforces their identity, which i'm a big fan of. I guess it's a little short ? I personnally like it as it is, but that could bother some people. Now it's not perfect, and the platinum can be a bit of a grind but with the pixel remaster tool it does make things a lot easier. It's not the best game ever or anything, but it is very charming and I hope more people give it a try Version Française : Un de mes Final Fantasy favoris, et très nettement mon Final Fantasy 2D favori.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Story is 100%, but the excruciantingly gimmicky gameplay is bad enough that I nearly gave up on the entire franchise. It was all nice from FF I–III until this GARBAGE! 1) Frustrating enemy design. Why do
Malboros
even exist? 2) Party constantly getting messed up by useless low-level characters. HEADACHE! 3) Over-reliance on magic. However, by the time the mage finishes casting a spell, they’ve already been blasted at least 3 times and wiped out of existence NOT RECOMMENDED!
Si, es un juegazo
This is the first game I have rated as I play through all the Final Fantasy games and it is by far my favourite of the Pixel Remasters so far. Whilst the previous entries had already used stories within their games 4 is the first one which I was thoroughly engaged with. Cecil’s narrative is iconic for a reason, and he is the first attempt at a multi-layered character within the Final Fantasy franchise (at least from my point of view). However, whilst not quite as strong the rest of the merry band of teammates are also likeable. Whilst this game does not feature the job system, this is substituted by the fact that the classes of the characters suit their story and narrative; if you changed the job of many of the characters they would be very different. I will also say so far this final fantasy has my favourite collection of locations, helped by its great variety. The Real time elements of the combat also provided a fun challenge and was used to create some interesting boss strategies such as against the CPU or final boss. Soundtrack as always is great and the game, compared especially to 2, requires much less grinding. If you always have random encounters turned on you should end up at the required level wherever you are. Anyway great FF, looking forward to moving onto 5 at some point.
vaya juegazo una historia mejor que las demas entregas 10/10 muy recomendable y personajes muy bien construidos y un platino mas o menos facil
Unyu. Obra maestra sin duda. Hay mas salto generacional entre el FF III y el FF IV que va a ver del GTA V y el GTA VI. Peak de principio a fin. Unyu
peak story and game
Cecil really carries FFV in my option as a very interesting character. The rest of the game is also amazing, and I really like his duality with Kain and Golbez. The locations in this game are more creative than III, and out of FF I, II, III, IV... IV is the best of the bunch. (Edit: They should have included The After Years, but honestly its not like you're missing much)
Worth playing to see how the series evolved over time. It's better than 1-3 but isn't quite in the golden 6-10 era. Story moves very quickly and party members cycle in and out just as fast though still make enough of an impression to be memorable (the recent FFs should really take a note of this).
