Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Eca!

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Post-Completion Review: 7/10 (Going through Final Fantasy games in order) MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD Pros: -Music as always is great especially remastered -Most of the cast is actually well-written and fulfill their story roles as needed (The GOATs are Edge and Cecil for sure) -Major plot and story improvement from Final Fantasy 3 -Pretty diverse abilities across playable characters unlocks different playstyles depending on their class giving them a feeling of uniqueness from other cast members -Really memorable bosses each with an interesting mechanic or theme that you need to figure out to defeat them. -Other than one tiny spike in difficulty, everything felt pretty well-balanced and fair to fight from beginning to end with a natural sense of progression as you level up. -Really memorable world maps and locations, I think they were really ambitious with the places you visited this time and I really appreciated it -I really love the legendary weapons being woven into the final dungeon with boss fights attached to each one, it felt really rewarding and challenging to get each one! Cons: -Certain characters just... did not carry their weight - Looking specifically at you Kain. They stick out worse in this game because unlike Final Fantasy 3 most characters are enjoyable in Final Fantasy 4, so the handful of really boring or dry characters are just annoying to see on your screen again. -While I enjoyed the final dungeon and boss, I feel as though the boss could have been better balanced. Having a mechanic that wipes party buffs resulted in just a battle where we whack each other with sticks and see who's stronger. It's something I thought Final Fantasy 2 did way better where you were incentivized to level certain buffing spells and use them on certain members to defeat harder bosses, I wish they would have stuck with that philosophy, and if I have to be honest quite a few bosses played out like this. -The plot is enjoyable, but there are some aspects to it that just feel a bit... contrived and feel like they were only put there to raise the stakes or create extra drama. -Removed the job/class system which was introduced in Final Fantasy 3 which was one of the few good things to come out of that game. -----TLDR: I am playing through each Final Fantasy Game in order. Final Fantasy 4 is finally the first game I would fully recommend to somebody looking to play Final Fantasy Games (I would still recommend 2 out of the first 4, but it comes with a bit more baggage). After the absolute train wreck that was Final Fantasy 3 this game really set the bar back to quality levels of enjoyment. After playing through 3 I put in my review that I could barely remember characters or story elements, but after playing through 4 I came out of the experience holding onto certain characters very dearly like Cecil and Edge, and remembering pretty much the entire story quite fondly. I would say Final Fantasy 4 is definitely the first game that new fans of the genre should try first as it really starts to encapsulate what a "Final Fantasy" game actually is.
its a product of its time but i still enjoyed it quite a lot
Final Fantasy IV was a superb experience. The music is really awesome, the characters were all really cool (Palom the goat) and the story flowed really well. Certified hood classic
