About
A collection of places to explore, or ambient 'games,' made from 2015 to 2022. Some are walking sims and others are fully passive (you can blow up a planet on Voltark!). Take an endless train ride or roam sun-baked deserts. There's plenty to see at your own pace. Please read the reviews to decide if these experimental games are for you :)
Take the Nightline through an infinite Metropolis. Destination? Unknown.
Visit the Carcavas Valley Natural Preserve in this nostalgic exploration piece. It’s a curious place, home to a wide variety of wildlife and rumors of military test sites and energy zones.
A star melts on a morphing altar, the enveloping woods feed ever growing, that feeling, blue, sinks deeper.
Strange shapes and voices pierce the blizzard's veil, stranded and curious atop this mountain you leave behind the comforts of your cabin to survey this darkest of nights.

One could argue about these games' usefulness, as they lack any mechanic at all and are, in the end, walking simulators. But I would disagree wholeheartedly. Sometimes it is about experimentation, sound design, orthodox artistic choices, being creatively stimulated and having a bigger view of what you're seeing. FICTION #F3F does just that. It provides little to no content in terms of things to do. And yet it feels very fulfilling. This game is divided in multiple scenes, each with its own atmosphere and "narration". The most interesting aspect about these scenes are their mixture of elements which create the environment, mixed with the music, of course. Each had its own spin, its own identity. You can have multiple outcomes in certain games, too. It depends on where you go. If you're into what I have mentioned until now, this is a must.
Each and every game is a masterpiece of it's genre. Get rid of the mindset that you must "do" things in a game, and what's left is just a pure "being" in game. Don't forget to follow this dev!

genuinely a form of art

this is up there with LSD: Dream Emulator for me. if you aren't already a fan of avant-garde art or are otherwise into unconventional pieces of artwork, then this probably isn't for you. i loved Story of a Line, it somehow really made me sympathize with the line and almost see it as a person. i don't know if that was the intended outcome, but i liked it anyway. i will say though, my favorite was absolutely Carcavas. the art style was amazing and i really liked the LSD-feel to it. i will say though, and this is just my opinion, i really wish there was more warning when you enter any of the grey zones. i will admit, i didnt watch the full trailer on the store page, but it was seriously a shock to be having a good time admiring the animals and then get absolutely blasted by loud static, LOL!
Very cool series of short scenes to explore. This is audiovisual art. Liked it a lot.
