I've played Miro since beta 0.1.4 or somewhere in there. I first saw the beta test in a local modding community, I'm pleased to say the release did not disappoint. A little spoilers just got pacing not the story. You begin exploring and recovering data for the Miro, then you begin rebuilding the broken ship, and finally trying to find a way to fix the past. There's a dark secret to the game and alot of them. This game is a great player for long sessions. It took nine hours for one I recommend a few sessions and coming back to it. Exploring takes long my tip is enjoy it slowly
This game was something I put on my wishlist a while back and didn't think much of. Then the demo came out, and I was charmed with its simplistic style and story hook. I sank quite a while into the demo, so when the full game dropped I snapped it up. I'm so glad that I did. This is one of those quiet, ruminating games that are so, so rare to come across. The story is engaging and the atmosphere is beautiful but painfully lonely, melancholic even, like a half-remembered dream from childhood. I'm not finished with it yet, but so far I've loved every minute I've put into it. The dinosaurs were a welcome surprise, and the procedural nature of the planets themselves is fascinating; they don't feel cobbled together, they feel very natural and organic. For the price, this game is definitely worth it, and even though I'm almost 10 hours in on one play through, this is something with near infinite replayability.
Miro feels like the early days of No Man's Sky in regards to planetary exploration, the walking-sim element with discovery & chill vibes. Yet this is structured with a story & defined goals. Nice tech upgrade paths compliment the exploration element, giving purpose in resource collection. It feels a bit like a matured Proteus in presentation but with distinct story beats & direction. Has that lo-fi PS1-era art direction if that's your thing (it def. is mine). While planets you explore are procedural, they remain static with unique resource types & structures that you can revisit for upgrade materials. So it doesn't feel random in the traditional sense. Bonus props for QoL features like toggles to both auto-walk & auto-run. Seems like a small thing but it makes a difference at the maps are quite sprawling and thanks to an upgradable compass that populates POIs, it never feels aimless.

This sort of minimalistic, lo-fi game hides surprisingly well written and interesting story. Also a fun crafting system. If I were to curate a list of games to play while listening to podcasts, this one would be: Informational: you can listen to podcasts while exploring the procedurally generated worlds, but make sure to pause and read whenever more of the story unfolds.
A charming, mysterious and at times eerie adventure through a procedural universe, MIRO immediately brings NOCTIS to mind - exploring surreal terrain with hauntingly familiar architecture is a niche genre to be sure but MIRO stands tall among its few peers. Definitely recommended as a long-form play experience - you'll be exploring planets for hours, gathering resources, upgrading your suit and unraveling the story for quite some time. The developer is also quick to respond to bug reports, always a good sign.
A delightfully atmospheric exploration game! Love the lofi graphics, chill music, and overall vibes. Great lore too! This is not a particularly deep or complex game but it's a terrific showing from a solo dev. Definitely recommended!
