First of all, the game was developed by only 2 people, so all the kudos to them for pulling off such a neat horror game. As for the game itself, it has that nostalgic VHS art style to it, atmosphere is well build, voice acted dialogues, the story is told from both Ami’s and Viv’s points of view (after you play and finish one story you will unlock the other), some simple puzzles are sprinkled around. As for the horror aspect; do not expect jump scares, the atmosphere builds the horror, once you get caught by a monster you will realize they are not that scary with them slapping you around once then getting stunned thus offering you plenty of time to run away, the only real one was the last boss and that’s because it was janky to guide him in the right location so you can hit him. The game is fairly easy in difficulty, but it has it’s flaws: the biggest one is that both type of enemies are almost the same just with different textures/model, encountered some bugs like one time an enemy dispersed after I reloaded the game, some spotlights are cast from the calling, so you gotta hide under objects to avoid them, well one time I was found even if I hid. Apart from those, all was good, no crashes, soft blocks or anything major. And while it is a nice little horror game, I cannot rec it at full 20$ price (I mean that is almost as much as Amnesia the Bunker) but during sales, and if you like psychological horror games, then sure, go ahead and grab it.

It’s a good depiction of a normal lesbian date.
The game works so well because it doesn't try to be bigger than it needs to be. When I tried the demo, I was surprised by how good it was. How it looks was immediately appealing to me, the main characters quickly made me care about them, the voice acting was great, and the writing felt very natural. So after completing the demo, I bought the game. The game lacks combat (it has one boss fight, but it is basically a puzzle) and it relies on stealth. I dislike games that force stealth as the only option. That's why I never finished Outlast. I find those games just boring and/or frustrating, and if I lose all interest, then I just don't see any reason to keep playing it. But here I actually enjoyed the stealth; it was tense and for some reason I genuinely didn't want to get caught, especially in Chapter 2, which was tenser and scarier than Chapter 1. Yet, occasionally the game can also be cozy and chill, which could make it more approachable for some. The game constantly changes the scenarios and environment, making it feel fresh. Also, it is linear, so there's pretty much no way to get lost. The puzzles are abundant relative to its length, and they are good. They make you think, but they are never frustrating and were mostly pretty easy. The story was actually quite interesting, mainly because of what you learn about Chrissy and what you get to know about Amy. So even though the game is short, it still explores some disturbing and serious themes. The game has some clear inspirations. The most obvious one is Silent Hill; the game looks very similar to it, but I'd say it's even better. Due to limitations, parts of the environment in Silent Hill were blurry; here, however, all the elements are well defined, while the old textures and grain give the game a sense of mystery. The sound effects are also very Silent Hill (without the dentist drills, though). Ringu is another one. It's curious that the last 2 games I played are inspired by it, and that's not a complaint since Ringu is the best J-Horror movie I have watched. The only thing that bothered me was that sometimes the camera gets too close to the character, covering a big part of the screen. When you are hiding, I think it definitely works well and increases the tension, but when you are in an open area, it actually makes the game less tense. If your character looks smaller in a large, dark hallway, it makes you more scared, so they could have done it better in this respect. But this is just a small complaint, since after less than an hour of playing I had stopped noticing this. The game was developed by a team of 2, and while playing, I kept thinking how it could easily have a broken combat system or be too long (for the story it tells), so I give them credit for understanding their limits perfectly. It's simple, but so much attention and care has been put into every aspect that I can't say its simplicity is a flaw. Also, I was surprised there was a second chapter (which apparently was released later as an update), so it clearly has a lot of work put into it. I honestly think this game is practically flawless; it's similar to games like ICO or Portal, which are also short and somewhat simple, yet they are amazing. I can't say it is at the same level as the best Survival Horror games, but it is definitely worth playing and this could be a great introduction for anyone to Survival Horror. I would love to see what the devs do in the future, because I think they can aim even higher.
...
Honestly, a little disappointed with this one. Love the oldschool Silent Hill aesthetic, love the graphics design and controls and I love some of the encounters, but this game is a LOT more puzzle centric than horror centric and there are only one of 2 types of threats you can come across and both are fairly easily avoided. The puzzles themselves are rarely witty to such an extent that I took longer on most of them because I was OVERTHINKING them and they actually boil down to just carrying parts from one location to another leading to some backtracking I don't feel was well executed. On the other hand, when you do have the monster, the Spotlight Head, in the room with you, he's incredibly easy to avoid and the game is forgiving enough to the point that even when I took risks I was only hit a total of 1 time throughout the entire playthrough (Not counting the final boss) and NEVER died. The other "enemy" is really just a spotlight that occasionally spawns from the ceiling that you need to hide from. And what I just laid out is the only true interaction throughout the entire game. You find items, bring them back to other items, hide and make your way out of rooms where Spotlight Head spawns in and you only have to do THAT maybe 4-5 times total throughout your playthrough. Actually pretty underwhelming in totality. I wouldn't say this game is bad, but the problem is the story doesn't do much to make up for these elements. It's just Phantom of the Opera combined with (another) lesbian romance plotline in Survival Horror form. I'd buy it as a "Baby's First Horror" title. It's still decent, but if you're a veteran to this genre then this will be a quick jaunt through the woods.
Bão demais!
not too bad, bit pricey tho
