Greek Tragedy

Immersive with the sound design and it has a great retro look pulled off. You get used to the tank controls pretty fast and the puzzles ramp up in challenge. There are a few simple ones and a few that make you feel clever for solving them with secrets for different solutions. There seems to be some replayability with endings and puzzles though I am still working through my first run. Really neat game! If you like horror and puzzles it's a gem so far.

I was the first person in the world to unlock the Sonic the Hedgehog achievement in this game and I know because before I unlocked it the global achievements statistics page said 0.0% of people unlocked it but after I unlocked it the number changed to 0.1%. I figure this is probably my only opportunity to gloat about it.

This is a very light recommendation. Greek Tragedy is another Halloween release: a fixed-camera PSX horror game that kind of slipped under the radar. Amidst the release of absolute classics this month - Tormented Souls 2, Flesh Made Fear, and Echoes of the Living - it didn't really get much notice. Well, now that I have finished it (with 3 of the endings), I can't really say it is competitive with these other titles - especially not as a survival horror game.  It certainly shares some of the hallmark traits of the genre; there are fixed cameras, puzzles, and a sense of vulnerability. But it also subverts so many others, to a point where I don't even know how to classify it. No map, no inventory management, shoddy combat, linear level design, and an absolutely bizarre plot.  The combat is somewhat similar to the developer selewi's games - which DO feel like survival horror despite only having a singular unbeatable stalker enemy. Here, you only have a taser gun that merely momentarily pauses the hooded enemies that relentlessly chase you. This flimsy combat system makes the enemies feel more like a nuisance than intimidating.  The real gameplay here is the puzzles, but unfortunately they are a pretty mixed bag. There are a few that were interesting and clever, but there are many others that are either too simple, bizarrely constructed (in a bad way), or just slightly glorified keys. The overall atmosphere is also a mixed bag; while the art style itself is quite charming, the actual content of the college campus, the characters, the vague fraternity/cult story - I just don't really understand what the atmosphere is supposed to be.  The game took about 2 hours to finish, and it left me feeling a bit... empty. I don't really understand what the vision was for the developer, on both a mechanical gameplay level or the content and story. Some puzzle fans may enjoy moments of the game, but I really cannot recommend it for classic survival horror fans. 5/10

Love the Retro Style. Puzzles are Not Easy to Solve. If you have time - GO for it!! Happy Halloween 11/12/25 UPDATE: My 10 year old Grandson rocked this out last weekend in around 4 Hours. Is that a High Water Mark ? He didn't have much trouble with the Save Options being commented on. He said there were a few scary bits - but loved the challenges.

Не ожидал, что игра окажется настолько классной. Прямо удивила — видно, что разработчики вложили в неё душу и искренне хотели сделать что-то особенное. Здесь есть хорошо написанный сюжет, лёгкое чувство юмора и ощущение, что перед тобой цельное, продуманное произведение. Атмосфера студенческого кампуса, персонажи-студенты, таинственный культ в мантиях, мистический заговор/тайны — всё это будто пришло прямиком из американских молодёжных хорроров 2000-х. Если подумать, то очень мало подобных игр с атмосферой молодежного хоррора, где сюжет вращается вокруг студентов, кампуса и их делишек - я могу только вспомнить разве что серию Obscure. В игре есть несколько концовок, зависящих от ваших действий, по духу они напоминают концовки в Clock Tower. Отдельно хочу отметить за хорошую качественную локализацию! Рекомендую!

It's a bit rough around the edges, but it has a lot of heart and interesting ideas. Feels more OG Alone in the Dark than Resident Evil, but still has its own thing going.

What a delightful little gem Greek Tragedy has far more to offer than I was anticipating; I was immediately drawn the the retro-inspired aesthetic, and I'm charmed by the illustration style used in the photos and character art. In general, as a huge fan of retro and retro-styled survival horror, I was an easy sell, but I did not anticipate finishing a run through the game and immediately feeling the need to dive in to puzzle out the other endings. The way the endings work reminds me of a game like Clock Tower more than the survival horrors you would anticipate most inspiration to be drawn from, and overall the game's runtime is short enough that it's very tantalising to dive back in and keep hunting for whatever puzzles you might have missed on a previous run. This game has a lot of heart, I'm very glad I stumbled upon it.

Retro horror at its finest! I'd best describe this game as "Alone In The Dark, but good". Greek Tragedy is one of those horror games that has something to offer players of all skill levels and interest in the genre. It's perfect for a casual playthrough to enjoy the story, and rewards players who want to get good at it with a bunch of challenges and layers you can peel back in subsequent playthroughs. The main story is a quick bite if you know what you're doing, about four hours if you're focused, but there's many more to be pulled out of it with game modes to be unlocked that change up the mechanics a bit to get better endings. I can't recommend it enough!

Greek Tragedy totally brought me back to the good ole days of gaming. The spooky sound effects and classic survival horror vibe hit all the right notes. It’s perfect for players who love uncovering secrets, solving clever puzzles, and moving through the story with that constant tension of someone (or something) lurking nearby. Total nostalgia. I had an absolute blast playing from the very start!
