I found this game very confusing. It looks fun and interesting to play, but it's not an easy game to get into. The tutorial in itself is confusing. I think it's a cool concept that needs work; maybe even multiplayer would add a great touch.
I would love to be able to recommend this game, but to be honest with you, I cannot. Pros: I love the concept. The tools feel good when you build and repair your probe. Cons: After a brief tutorial on how to refuel your probes, you are thrown to the wolves. Scanning a planet for resources is tedious and takes a different kind of power than the fuel that the scanner probe takes, (which is a different kind of fuel than your ship takes). No explanation on your other probe, which is just as important as the scanner probe. And when something breaks down, you just get a general alert. My driller broke down, and was just saying "Alert", I had NO idea what was wrong, but it prevented me from drilling... which is how you get materials to fix your driller. Solar System hopping is neat, but it's random, so if you need ore, you better pray to the RNG Gods that you get it, otherwise you'll burn through your fuel. (Which can only be gathered through your driller probe.) So, if you need fuel for both your ship and probes, you might as well restart. I will have say, that there is a setting that makes fuel recharge automatically on safe planets, but I personally feel that that kind of defeats the purpose. Otherwise you're just travelling from safe planet to safe planet, waiting for your fuel to recharge. Turning the difficulty level down ruins the purpose of the game, but otherwise it's too easy to just screw yourself into a corner of not having enough resources and being stuck with either fuel for your ship with no way to get more, or fuel for your probes with no way to get ship fuel. Again, I love the concept.
it's ok, but a little short / empty. needs more content. worth about a dollar. try the free demo first.
I started the game up and now I am permanently stuck in the ceiling on it. Personality Core tutorial bot is talking to me but I can't see him. With no other option, I skipped the tutorial and now 14 feet tall (I guess the ceiling was higher) I cannot reach the controls. I cannot progress. Devs have apparently already abandoned this game. I'd demand my money back but I doubt Steam will do that.
Space Mechanic Simulator! (strategic flying included)
i like space games just like dead space when you fix things, this game you fix what ever you want you explore what ever you want. Your in control. This game is fun
i would recommend on one condition, that the resource management be updated to standards. it seems the game takes its directive from Dark Souls. Make resources aplenty and varied on planet to planet. tips to add: planets should have fuel deposits, ore deposits and other deposits. now randomize the deposit cache and you have a fully fleshed out game. While the game is well polished and thought out, the gameplay on default settings is equivalent to winning dark souls on first playthrough.
