Fantasy Heroes is a highly entertaining and well made rpg of the old school variety that should more than please fans of these games. There's a brief introductory conversation and then you are off on a grand adventure in what transforms from a simple errand to a complex and challenging threat to the land. So the story is very good without a lot of explanation in the beginning as you are left to discover the nature of the difficulty on your own as you explore the world. And the layout of the world is unique and requires you to really think about where you are, where you are going, and what are you going to do next. You know where and what to do, but the game is laid out so that you can explore, fight, and level up at the pace you choose. There are seemingly small differences that can be critical so as you pick up items (and there are a bunch of them to find) you can choose how you exactly want to use them. To help with this there is a section in the main menu that describes the different parameters and properties of each character to help you make a decision. As I indicated, there are tons of things to discover, and this includes random, unmarked save spots ---- or you can buy saves at an item store ---- just another subtle difference in the game adding to its character. The graphics and great, the characters are interesting and immersive, the battle foes are different and well drawn, the controls are smooth as can be, there is zero lag, and the game play is flawless. Can't ask for more, IMO. So this is a wonderful offering that deserves a spot in any rpg library, and I give it my total recommendation.
Genre
Ein Mittelmäßiges JRPG
Story

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Two hours in this game and it's a dissapointing experience. I don't mind a developer using standard stock material only, in fact it can be a challenge to create a good or even great game with stock material only and some do pull it off. The thing with this game is that it's so generic in it's theme, it's story (there hardly is a story) or it's art or even map design. It's poorly written and so are the dialogues. The characters are underdeveloped but the crucial fault in this game is that you can't save anywhere or anytime you want and save points are sometimes too much spread out, it is possible to buy save opportunities at a shop though. Overall the game isn't persé bad but it's a very lazy developing effort. Frankly there are countless better RPG Maker Games out there. And on top of that it's grindy as well, boring & underdeveloped game lacking creativity. The developer has so little creativity that he (or she) couldn't even think of an original name for the game. If you want to play a fantasy game without thinking too much for a couple of hours I guess you could use it as a time killler but I've got better things to do and especially: better games to play. 3/10
In a sea of RPG Maker games, Fantasy Heroes stands out as one of the good ones. It is a little short, 6-10 hrs. depending on how much you grind, but totally worth the 5 dollar price. The story and gameplay are different enough to keep me engaged, and the character dialogue/interactions are entertaining. I should probably also mention that I haven't come across any bugs, and have had no crashes. I'd like to see more from Lumen.
RPGMaker game. You play as a lonely knight. Standard adventure plot. Gameplay is interesting enough. Recommend for those who like this type of game.
Pretty classic looking RPG, but VERY grindy. SO grindy. No Inns, hardly any towns that can be visited, and random attacks by things that are almost boss level. Just fight, heal, fight, heal, and pray you find a town just to get a break from the monotony of the white winter world. Mazes and dungeons/towers have long twisty roads to dead ends that often don't even have a chest for your trouble. I played for a few hours, abandoned it once I got a new game, tried to get back into and just ....Meh. I just quit.
Definitely a better than average JRPG/RPGMaker game. I suggest trying FH to any RPGMaker fans. Good art, good music, story development, smooth scrolling, no voice. Choices in battle and weapons make a difference. No/few side-quest but good balance of story progress. The story, towns, battles don't proceed like "the standard rpgmaker game". There is a uniqueness to the flow of the game. It is not "totally linear". Finished the game! FH is not one of the longer games but ok for the price. The game is not hard - worries about not being able to save "at any time" turn up to be just worries. Caveat: Some areas "dungeons" have large maps. They can be covered by using a round-robin technique easily enough or by jogging your mind a bit. If you are someone who is uncomfortable with being lost in maps you may be frustrated in some areas.
Just know that if you buy this, you're not getting Shakespeare, and it's not Final Fantasy. It's a poorly designed RPGMaker game with a ton of quality of life issues including can't save anywhere (they make you buy an item for this), points where you can't go back, very few shops or inns, no dashing, huge dungeons with multiple side paths that often lead to no reward, and poorly explained abilities. The dialogue and characters are absolutely atrocious, and there are no themes to speak of. All that said, it was cheap and it gave me 10 hours of fun. Gameplay is where it's at for this game. Enemies hit hard, but you have tools to deal with things. I always enjoyed the combat. A few pieces of advice- stay in an area until you have everything you want there. Once you leave, there is no going back. The second shop in the game has boots that increase item drop rate- I wore these for the whole game. You will live on enemy item drops.
