Vertigo Void is a challenging 3D puzzle-platformer which demands a keen eye and sharp memory. As a lone astronaut, walk up walls, jump across the void of space (or fall in) and teleport your way to safety or else face the Sun's wrath.
Plays like Kula World / Roll Away for Playstation except ball is replaced with astronaut. You jump, collect some green bits and activate switches but there's a twist, when getting close to the ledge you can move to the side of block and flip whole gravity along with the player. Each stage is time limited so keep that in mind also make sure to avoid collecting time capsules as they decrease time. Game have whooping 210 stages so it will definitely take a while to finish. Level design is ok and is divided by difficulty (gets very tough). Main con though, before starting any level you get a quick glimpse at the whole stage however it only lasts a couple of seconds, definitely too short to think about some strategy. Visual side leaves much to be desired and it might feel the game lack some polish. Music is average but could've been worse. Not a bad game, but still I recommend to play aforementioned Playstation classic first to get used to this type of gameplay.
I initially thought this was going to be a bit like Kula World (a PS1 puzzle game where you play a ball traversing platforms in 3D with no favoured direction for "down") but it was not exactly like that. No matter. I liked the aesthetic and loved the idea of an astronaut exploring a platforming system in 3D where one has to change perspective to find the next correct place to jump, explore, and activate buttons - so as to activate the exit and head through it to complete the level. What I severely did not appreciate was the fact that the player is not given the chance at all to appreciate the level, because they placed a 30 second countdown to finish the level. On the level I got stuck at, after several tries, I managed to figure out exactly where to go and jump and where all the traps , obstacles, bonuses, and buttons were, but to get one's bearings in a 3D arena with no "down" is a bit too difficult for me in 30 seconds. I never manage to clear the level I got stuck at. I was pushed into a state of horrid time urgency that made the game unenjoyable. If they had implemented a system where one got better bonuses the quicker one completed, I'd understand that and appreciate trying to get a better and better score as I improved in skill, but to rush around like bloody headless chicken trying to find the activator buttons and then get to the exit within 30seconds was too much. It was extremely frustrating and I thumb this down forcefully. Some others might have the skill to blaze through the level in 30seconds but for me personally, it was an unpleasant experience.
Everything with space is relaxing Combine this with puzzles that requires attention and good memmory Good game to wake up with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehzgeQ-nLZ8

I had just began to play today but the game seems to have a great potential. The level creator is not so hard to master but, because it was made with unity, you must change you control key via a little menu that appear when you launch the game. This game remember to me an other old game that was nammed "Kula world" so if this game tell you something go buy the game since he only cost less than 2 euros :).
This game began as a simple looking little puzzle game and slowly developed into a more complex version. I feel as if I would not be able to complete this as I would become frustrated and burn my pc. All in all this game seems fun yet it needs to work on smoother controls as jumping was difficult and turning was very fast.
The game was kind of fun for the first 10 levels, but ultimately, and rapidly, no, No, NO, AbsoLUTEly N-O!! The view is beyond obnoxiously hard to navigate through, and then on top of that, the controls are among the worst I've ever used, and on top of THAT, there's a bloody timer that makes the game VERY much NOT fun! When you HAVE TO explore the whole bloody arena to figure out what to do BUT you simply don't have enough time, the game loses any points/stars it might have had coming. First! Make the timer an option AFTER you've beaten a level for a challenge, but NOT to start with. Next! Add a zoom feature to be able to see at least a wee bit more of what the heck is around you. Lastly! Fix the bloody controls that waste time when you don't stop walking or turning in time get to where you're going. It's just too bloody finnicky about the keys.
Why the timer? The game requires you to pause and scope out your environment but then punishes you for taking too long. then you have to start over, go to the point where you died, and continue to figure it out. The timer just gets in the way. I can understand a Time trial mode though, or maybe a free-view mode where the timer stops.
Vertigo Void is probably the most charming puzzle game I've come across on Steam so far. The graphics are pixelated but still have a refined feel to them, something you don't get in many Unity games right now. The game handles the combination of puzzles and platforming very well. It puts you into a situation I'm sure at least a few of us thought of as kids: What if we were isolated in space away from our ship, on The Sun? You must remember the layout of the level and use the odd rules of gravity in the game to press all the buttons and unlock the hatch before time runs out and The Sun expands and you disintegrate. This sounds intense, but actually the game is very calming. The music is soothing and complements the game to create a finished product: A relaxing puzzle game to play to wind down at any time of the day. For two dollars? This game is great. For one dollar? If you like puzzles then you absolutely must get this game.
