I am 76 years old and had played pop the balloon, solitaire, mahjong, Zuma, Alien shooter at the last (top down games). Then I found FO3, the first real pc game I had ever played. I was star stricken, overwhelmed :-). I played it just after it came out and played it til the wheels fell off hahahahaha. Then came he DLC`s, FOI4 everything after FO3 I gobbled it up. The book of maps, the books of each consecutive game. Printed reems<sp> what to do`s, where to go`s etc and so forth. of Some in between games like Crysis and so forth. This was like my first love as a adolescent boy but, much, much, older. I had a huge gap between tech starting with pc`s and games til FO3. Personal obstacles if you will. FO 3 was my Kasbah, my Serendipity. It will always be my favorite. I had read books and such like this genre for over half century, 6-7 decades. I can`t say enough good about the game. But hey, what do I know? Could be wrong, usually am *lams. 11 out f 10 and 6 stars rating:) This game has followed w/ me on maybe, at least, 6 new computers/ upgrades, so specs increased by the pc. Сразу накатил неофициальный патч без васянства, чтобы минимизировать баги и вылеты, и сходу окунулся в ностальгию, когда игра только-только вышла в релиз. Игра мне тогда очень полюбилась, да и сейчас у меня к ней остались очень теплые чувства. Пусть в ней и дубовый основной сюжет, и деградация ролевого отыгрыша по сравнению с предыдущими играми серии, но зато в ней своя особая атмосфера и визуальный стиль. Мне безумно нравится вступительная часть игры, где главный герой взрослеет в стенах убежища, первый его/ее выход на поверхность, первое поселение с людьми. Как же мне нравилось просто бродить по пустоши и натыкаться на различные ее уголки. В те года дополнения так и не были пройдены мной, так как игру я забросил после первого прохождения. Виной всему наверно слабая реиграбельность. В отличие от нее, вторая часть серии была перепройдена мной кучу раз. Но как оказалось, практически все дополнения хороши, некоторые даже очень. Кроме, пожалуй, приключения на борту корабля пришельцев. Так что что-то я открыл для себя в первый раз. В целом, игра и сейчас довольно играбельна (с патчем). Особенно, если не пытаться сравнивать ее с другими играми серии. Как никак это первое трехмерное приключение по пустоши в этой игровой вселенной, которую я, в свое время, очень долго ждал.
