Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force

Advent Dark Force é a versão atualizada do jogo Fairy Fencer F (também disponível na Steam) e traz varias melhorias e conteúdos bônus, como: ter 6 lutadores na batalha ao invés de 3, mais opções de dificuldade, dungeons bônus, personagens jogáveis, cenas extras e uma terceira rota; portanto não há razão para pegar a versão original ao invés desta. A história não tenta fugir dos clichês, porém é bem humorada por causa dos personagens e fica bem mais interessante na segunda metade, onde ela pode seguir 3 rumos diferentes (dependendo de quantas espadas você tirou do Deus Maligno antes da parte do deserto), cada uma com seus próprios personagens jogáveis, antagonistas e finais. O jogo também possui "New Game +" e você pode escolher o que carregar, incluindo níveis, dinheiro, itens, equipamentos e até mesmo personagens que são exclusivos de uma determinada rota. O jogo é dos mesmos criadores da série Neptunia, por isso o sistema de combate é bem parecido; inimigos são visíveis no mapa e podem ser evitados. Também tem uma opção de dar dash no mapa para evitar inimigos e pular animações de combate apertando RT no controle. FFF possui um baixo orçamento, vide a pouca variedade de inimigos e cutscenes animadas, fora que várias dungeons parecem versões recoloridas do mesmo lugar. Outro ponto negativo é que o jogo possui quests de coletar itens dropados por monstros... o problema é que certos itens só são dropados se você estiver jogando em determinados nível de dificuldade (mas pelo menos você pode mudar a a dificuldade a qualquer momento pelo menu). Ainda sim, Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force é um jogo divertido com um ótimo sistema de combate e possui muito conteúdo extra. Recomendo.

A decent game marred by a bad port and stupid design choices. it's a fairly standard turn based jrpg with a cast of trope filled characters, a pretty basic plot, and three major routes with a handful of endings between them. I liked this game back on the ps4 and I still want to like it but it has issues on steam and some design choices that need addressing. the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ on pc, there are some tweaks you can make I'll leave at the bottom but there's a fair bit of stutter when loading a dungeon, map water/one dungeon cave flickering some audio bugs, and you won't be playing above 60 fps due to visual bugs. the mechanic to determine your route is also pretty stupid having to pull swords from the statues but for the second and third route it's dependent on the number you pull from the bad one as opposed to having the third route make you pull all from both. this would make far more sense because triggering this route early means getting slapped stupid by a boss you shouldn't be fighting and having to load back to before you pulled but I digress. it's fun enough if you like jrpgs, but you should probably just grab a console port if you have access. If you're still reading and want the fixes for whatever reason: open the config file for the game in its folder should be something like steam/steamapps/common/fffadf and set the frame cap to zero to remove the in game cap. then set a global cap of 60 fps through your driver program or riva tuner for a more solid framepacing. in the same folder open common/movies and move or delete the thum folder, this prevents the hitching for the dungeon previews. beyond these two tweaks I've yet to find any meaningful changes to make to improve the perfomance so it really comes down to what you're willing to tolerate. I got it on sale and exceeded the return window before playing and I realized the problems it had. fun game awful port.

fairy fencer f is a decent jrpg. i liked the story, but didn't like the art style or old-school slow turn based combat. it's a very stereotypical jrpg, so if you're a fan of the genre, this is a decent one that is a bit generic. but, if you are not sure about the genre, there are better ones to start with.
