Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

I miss the days the yanks wouldn't have a bloody fit every time they saw a woman...

Very small amount of content currently. I could see this being ok for a early access game from a small indie studio, but this studio has THQ as a publisher. Save your money and wait for either a full release or at least a few content updates. Also the companion dialogue is really bad. I can't think of any other way to describe it besides the lame marvel style of banter that is in everything now.
I've been playing expeditions since conquistador. I really had fun playing this early access, and I loved the change in art style (I can understand why some rome players didn't like this part of the game, but my laptop specs thank it for not being a visually realistic game) I liked the setting and the story so far. I had one bug on a side quest, but nothing that broke the game. I think the stealth sections could use some adjustments, but overall it's a really fun game and has an interesting story. I can't wait for the complete game! (By the way, I'm glad I didn't read the comments here before playing!)
I was so happy to set out on a new expedition in Japan moreover with the ability to fight christians but this early release is disapointing. There have been literally hundreds of complaint about the art style. Personally I<d rather be someone who can tolerate this kind of thing rather than a graphics slave who complains about the graphics of rdr 1 or someone who thinks Avatar is a great movie(it<s the most overrated movie of all time). The developers have stated that they will improve theh graphics and I do hope they can bring this project to fruition. It<s a frightening thought that they wouldn<t... The founder of logic artists made his frist game(conquistador) as a university project and for his mother. I am so glad I decided to buy that game and jump into the expeditions series. Conquistador released in early access but this was understandable because of lack of funds(even though every economic problem especially is caused by a serious lack of Love in the world for over a hhundred years now) however that game gave you more playtime in Hispanolia than this game does. Every time I have set out on a new expedition in this series I have always been able to finish it. This game has been in development for several years which makes it even worse. The VG industry is a shadow of its former self and this especially true for the strategy branch. The stealth aspect of this game is sorely lacking and this is annoying even when youre playing on easy and killing enemies is almost as easy as falling off a log. The pathfinding in this game is a real pain in the backside. Moving your characters on the locations where you fight, find clues, and interact with civilians is a step backwards from almost every past expedition game(although still better than Norse:Oath of Blood). This game has woke and lgbt sickness like so many other things these days. You can have smae sex relations with any and all relevant crew members including the priest(who is voiced by the same person who voiced your greek teach er in Rome in case you cant put your finger on it). You have female crew members and there are female samurai. I dont know if you can have a harem but well see. Christians and christian sympathisers will find this game more palatable than Viking I think but christian detractors will be happy with the dialogue and game options too. Verdict: Get this game if you can handle early access and only one chapter to play for now or you want to support the developer. Otherwise wait a month or two or full release perhaps and only if they iron out the issues this game has. This release is a step backwards from not only Viking but also Rome itself and youre probably better of picking up conquistador itself on sale if you havent already. Have a nice day.
Expeditions: Samurai is definitely a true successor to Expeditions: Rome. The systems are very familiar, and you can immediately tell that it was made by many of the same developers. The core gameplay is solid, the classes seem varied, and there is a good amount of complexity for a tactical RPG. The art style doesn't bother me either. That said, it doesn't quite have the same "soul" that Rome had. Rome's art direction felt unique and surprisingly pleasant to look at, while Samurai feels a bit more generic in comparison. Maybe the artist responsible for Rome's style didn't move to the new studio? Right now, however, the game suffers from the same problem that affects almost every Early Access title: many of its systems feel shallow or disconnected from each other, and there are plenty of smaller issues that understandably aren't the priority in the middle of development. There are minor bugs, and the UI can sometimes be confusing or require you to dig through too many layers. That being said, the UI itself is absolutely beautiful. Visually, I would actually put it above most modern games. Now for the elephant in the room. I'm not going to give the game a negative review because of this, since I understand that not everyone shares my beliefs or perspective, but the way the Catholic Church is portrayed here goes beyond being disrespectful at times and almost becomes comical. At this point, it feels fairly predictable that by the end of the story most of the country's problems will somehow be directly connected to the actions of the Jesuits. That's not particularly surprising considering how Christianity is usually portrayed in modern media. But being able to **romance the Franciscan priest**, especially while playing a male character? That was certainly a choice. I have a great deal of respect for the Society of Jesus. I was educated by Jesuits myself, and I am familiar with the history of their activities in Japan. Because of that, I already expected them to be portrayed negatively in the game. Even with those expectations, however, some moments genuinely come across as offensive to me. Still, I'm leaving a positive review. My biggest concern before playing was that Samurai would turn out to be something completely different from Expeditions: Rome, simply carrying the Expeditions name. Thankfully, that isn't the case at all. This really does feel like a sequel to Rome. The foundation is already there. What the game needs now is time, polish, and a lot of work to bring all of its systems together.
<3 [EN] I’ve only played Expeditions: Samurai briefly, but I can say I really like the basic framework. Only time will tell how well or poorly the game will develop; I can only advise everyone to think carefully before purchasing an Early Access game. Many players seem to forget the following points: 1. No one is forcing us, as players, to buy Early Access games. 2. READ STEAM’S EARLY ACCESS NOTICE: “Note: Games in Early Access are not yet finished and may undergo changes in the future. If you don’t like the game in its current state, wait a while to see how it develops.” If you, as a player, are aware of these factors, you’ll save money and avoid unnecessary frustration. I, for one, am very happy to support the developers of Expeditions: Samurai, and I’m sure it will leave Early Access on a positive note. <3
Dam it was fast. It is first negative review I have written. In first 80 minutes of the game I have encountered black female medic on a British ship. 1/3 of a crew as girls in British and Portuguese nave and female samurai. It is "netflixed" harder than AC:Japan. Until they rebuild it it is wase of money. Pretty shameful, story began to be interesting.
