The sun rises on another civil war, as you land in Japan aboard a battered Dutch ship. Thrust into command of its motley crew, you must navigate the politics of Sengoku-era Japan using stealth, diplomacy, or violence in this party-based RPG where every choice matters.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

Dam it was fast. It is first negative review I have written. In first 80 minutes of the game I have encountered black female medic on a British ship. 1/3 of a crew as girls in British and Portuguese nave and female samurai. It is "netflixed" harder than AC:Japan. Until they rebuild it it is wase of money. Pretty shameful, story began to be interesting.
<3 [EN] I’ve only played Expeditions: Samurai briefly, but I can say I really like the basic framework. Only time will tell how well or poorly the game will develop; I can only advise everyone to think carefully before purchasing an Early Access game. Many players seem to forget the following points: 1. No one is forcing us, as players, to buy Early Access games. 2. READ STEAM’S EARLY ACCESS NOTICE: “Note: Games in Early Access are not yet finished and may undergo changes in the future. If you don’t like the game in its current state, wait a while to see how it develops.” If you, as a player, are aware of these factors, you’ll save money and avoid unnecessary frustration. I, for one, am very happy to support the developers of Expeditions: Samurai, and I’m sure it will leave Early Access on a positive note. <3

this got very little resemblace to what expedition games were. It feels like something entirely different and not in a good way. the character movement is just horrible, you have to right click constantly to move. lets not mention the horrible art style wich feels like a cheap mobile game. i cant recommend this game. first impression horrible
I wasn't impressed by the graphics, writing, game performance/optimization, or gameplay. Dialogue felt more like modern speech than what I would expect from a game in this setting. Mouse and character movement felt sluggish/laggy to me. This game does not feel like it was ready for early access and I am shocked that it is set to release so soon. I doubt that it will significantly change by the time 1.0 is launched.
the story has been enjoyable so far. the art direction i am enjoying but its not super realistic. the music and ambiance is amazing. if you played any of the other expeditions this is 100% worth the time!
French please... ;-)
Game is less than 6 hours long
I really wanted to like Expeditions: Samurai, but it ended up being disappointing for me. Going into it, I was hoping for a deeper RPG experience with more freedom, meaningful choices, character-building options, and exploration similar to Baldur’s Gate 3. Unfortunately, the game felt much more limited than I expected. There weren’t enough options in how I could approach situations, explore the world, or really make the character and adventure feel like my own. The overall quality also felt noticeably lower than what I was hoping for, especially when it came to exploration, depth, and immersion. I understand that not every RPG needs to be Baldur’s Gate 3, but I expected Expeditions: Samurai to give me more freedom to wander off, discover interesting places, find hidden rewards, and make decisions that changed how my adventure played out. It might be enjoyable for players who prefer a more straightforward and guided RPG, but if you're looking for a deep, open-ended RPG with lots of exploration and player choice, this probably won’t scratch that itch.
