If you like FPS and RTS, this is the best mashup currently at the market. It's worth the price even just for solo play. That said, don't expect AAA or polished experience. Consider this a side passion project made by a small team of devs. It had huge potential, but the game has insane history. (At launch, all the sales were stolen by the publisher for example...) And it's an amazing feat of passion and love to have it still going. Both RTS and FPS aspects have to make compromises for the other. That translates to many quirks and some missing quality of life aspets. The game is a bit unforgiving to new players. (As is common with RTS, yet expect that seeping into the FPS aspects too.) But overall a great experience if you can look past. Join the discord. We'll gather and play with you. Teach you the ropes, tell you how to avoid issues. Many of us veterans just often wait for the spark to get back into the game. With every new player who comes, joins the voice chat, asks for games... we come back again and have the best times. And you'll get the opportunity to talk to the devs sometimes, they are really cool :) Insane soundtrack too.
I think the game should ditch the idea of being PvP and focus more on PvE, a campaign, or even a conquest mode
It's a good game, but there's a HUGE downside: Optimization Even with a modern gaming PC, you'll still get 20~40 FPS at any graphics settings. This is the game's worst problem.
Eximius is a rare breed of game a RTS/FPS hybrid and there are very few titles in this genre. I own nearly all of them because I genuinely love this genre. When Eximius was first announced, I was excited. The concept, the art direction, and the feature promises all pointed toward something special. It’s exactly the kind of game I want to to play. However, after years of ownership and updates, the game still feels unfinished. Development has slowed significantly, and the overall experience still feels closer to an early-access alpha than a fully realized product. That’s disappointing, especially given how much potential the core idea has. The RTS side shows ambition, but the execution lacks polish. The FPS side needs the most improvement. Gunplay and movement don’t feel refined, and the systems don’t seem optimized around the player experience. The “feel” of the game is not that tight, responsive feedback loop that modern shooters rely on just isn’t there. It ends up feeling clunky and unpolished rather than immersive. Visually, the art direction is solid and sometimes genuinely cool. There’s creativity here. The sound design, however, could use more work, it lacks impact and depth, which further weakens the FPS experience. What makes this especially frustrating is that the concept is genuinely strong. The RTS/FPS hybrid idea is exciting and still largely untapped in the industry. But good executions aren’t enough. Polish is huge especially when competing against modern games that feel far more refined and responsive. At this point, even on sale, I can’t recommend buying it. I still respect the ambition and uniqueness of the project, but in its current state, it doesn’t live up to its potential.
Kind of like someone combined the knock off versions of the games Halo Wars and Halo 3 into a single game. Been very enjoyable so far
11 players Peak. Give bigger maps, Add more Pve and you can retain people. Not everyone wants PVP. Or dont an have 11 players peak in 24 hr
I don't know the developer's purpose for making this game. It's a very, very poor semi-finished product. Why release it? After I tried it again and again, I was only to find that it is truly a f***king gabbage
Great game! There's so many dynamics it's always fun and engaging. This game deserves to go viral and get the support it needs to hit the next level.
Amazing idea between a mix of RTS and FPS, however I feel like there is a slight lack of love when it comes to the FPS side of things. Massive potential and I hope this game becomes something big!
This is an incredibly fun game to play with friends. As a fan of games like PUBG, Starcraft, Command and Conquer, Starwars Battlefront, Battlefield 2, Age of Empires, Halo, and Counter Strike, this game is like a hybrid of all of them. You should totally play it, and I wish the devs would make a sequel because this is so fun. One problem with the game is because it's an indie team and it does SO much with the game, a lot of the mechanics are lacking polish. The movement with RTS controls feels sluggish sometimes, particularly the navmeshing. Units never go where you want. For the first person shooting, the overworld map is HORRIBLE and looking at the map or communicating is nearly impossible. It's also really hard to see enemies, the levels are way too cluttered with large buildings, it would be way better with less buildings and brush which end up just making everything super hard to see. The big buildings really serve no purpose for either the RTS mode or FPS mode, they just get in the for both. But overall I love and will continue to promote this game because it is so fun and more games like this should exist.
