EscapeVR: The Basement

I enjoy VR escape rooms, but this series is just too linear (you have to have a very specific thing to accomplish one task to move on) and they are not very clear. I am not asking for just making a game easy, on the contrary, I like a challenging puzzle, but once I find the solution, I want to say "Oh, that makes sense" and not "Damn, I was doing almost exactly that in 6 different ways, but it wanted me to do it in a very specific way" type reaction - that gets annoying. Compared to a similar title like Abode (1 or 2) or Room, this pales in comparison. I appreciate the work, perhaps try building more parallel paths to solve and upping the artistry a bit?

enjoyed the game, puzzles made sense and logical, snap turn and teleport movement, graphics are ok, though I did up the resolution, no bugs and played fine on the Rift S, Ryzen 7 3800X, 5700XT, Windows 10 64.

Gute Rätsel, mehrere Räume, viel anzuschauen und zu entdecken. Ca 30min Spielspass pro Run, aber man kann man zum Glück ja noch anderen Familienmitgliedern die Möglichkeit geben, es zu spielen, um mehr aus dem Geld herauszubekommen. Ach ja und kleine Kritik: Eine Testperson war zu klein, um die Vasen und die Glühbirnenhalterung zu erreichen, evtl nächstes mal nicht so hoch platzieren ;)

I would not recommend this game unless it's on a huge discount. Easily completed in about 30 minutes

Unfortunately, I wasn't too thrilled with this game. One thing that bugged me throughout was that the hands were set at a weird angle to the controllers, so it made doing some movements, especially around interacting with objects, really weird, and I had to twist my actual hands in odd ways to make it work. Kind of uncomfortable. Additionally, and tied in to that, the physics aren't great, particularly when it comes to throwing...which is necessary at least at one point. Overall, less fun than I was hoping. :(

Unfortunately I can't recommend this game or its sibling, EscapeVR: Trapped Above the Clouds. Some of the puzzle solutions are just too obtuse or completely unrealistic. I'm pretty sure a simple cork wouldn't actually cause a boiler to explode in real life.

Just played this game and completed it in about an hour. I enjoyed it thoroughly, the puzzles were creative but always solvable. Graphics are fantastic.

Good escape room game with some quite effective puzzles.

Good fun.

Pros - cheap; good hints Cons - stupid start (turn round!); requires excessive reaching; poor moving (teleporting is awkward and should use thumbstick); short; save only after puzzle completed
