Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers. Spoiler-free Review.
Received free copy per the Steam Curator Connect program to review This is a very good, solid escape room experience that took me approximately 2 hours to complete, although it can be finished much sooner if you know what you're doing. Movement is by teleportation and you can turn with the joystick. You can play this game seated as long as you can pick items off the ground, although it would be easier standing. I found the puzzles to be fantastic. They were logical, common sense and made you carefully observe your surroundings for clues on how to proceed. There's even a hint button in case you get stuck. The levels are broken up into three room areas where you can continue once you have escaped that level room. The graphics were better than the average VR escape / puzzle room. You can grab most items and some you can interact with. The animations for these interactions are well done. Unlike some escape rooms, there are no cinematic cut scenes, the only messages coveyed are via text. I had fun. With a lot of these puzzle / escape rooms I'm sometimes just happy to be done with it because they can get frustrating or tedious. This one though, just gave me the satisfaction of completing a mental challenge because of the way the puzzles were constructed. My main criticism of the game is that I think it's a little too expensive given the quality + quantity of content. At this price range for an escape room, I expect better graphics or voice acting / cinematic cut scenes OR, alternatively, more content. Rate 7/10.Despite the price issue, this is a really good puzzle game and I had fun so maybe it's worth getting on sale at least.
The Graphics and Screen shot's make this game look like a cheap low budget game. IT IS NOT :D It's a really well made game. Much attention was payed to the mechanics and it's fun, challenging, but not so challenging to be frustrating. It's a very fun escape room and one of my new VR favorites. Also, It's a nice non intense experience for new comers to get their VR legs.
Poorly made puzzles with multiple that do not follow logical sense. The wire one doesn't make sense and would be better with one extra piece and the code following it should just have a page without coffee. Holding objects while interacting and moving around is also a pain.
Here I am, thinking that I want to play a nice relaxing puzzle VR-game. I was mistaken. The game forces you to think like a 6-year old, looking for obvious clues instead of hidden / clever ones. I would not recommend. Find another Puzzle VR game.
I gave positive review for the 1st episode. For this one no, sorry. Take it at 3-4 Eur max imo. The whole game design is made to add artificial play-time... Also, why do you want to escape this nice rich place where you have food, drinks, TV, music...and a mobile phone ?? "Escape room" means escape darkness or madness, but not escape from the Trump tower...even if IRL maybe you would.
Really fun VR escape room game. It was a blast putting together comprehensive guide for all achievements and everything with this kind of game. A bit pricey, but I highly recommend it. Not much to say without spoiling it :) 7/10
It took me some time just to figure out how to play the game using a Valve Index. There are no instruction telling you how the controls should work. After more than an hour and a half I have that much worked out and a couple of the puzzles solved. So at least there is hope that I can proceed with the game at this point.
