I really liked it.
characters, art, plot.. some are better than others but each nice in their own way. It needed a bit more I think for the main character development I think if it had been a bit longer it would have been better but i still enjoyed it
If you can get through the long bits and spellings, mainly words being caped when not needed, its a really good story and one I plan on playing again as a Nomad and Knight. The art, especially the special parts, are done amazingly and the ending squeezes my heart. I'll admit I wish there was more interactions with your lovers like with "When the Night Comes" but maybe, for me at least, was because of who I chosen to romance but in the end I was happy and my poor heart strings where pulled. <3 P.s. I romanced Lucien and Raiden if anyone wanted to know. With Raiden being what he is I can understand why you may not interact with as much but yet Lucien is right there with you in the palace (if you chose the Ambassador bg) so many interactions could have been made? And compared to Finn and Ezra's romance (WTNC) you interacted with both a good amount of times despite one being a vampire who could only come out at night. This is my only negative feeling, if you can even call it that, about the game that did sadden me a bit.
I bought this to play because I liked another game by the same developers a lot. At first I was a little disappointed because this is an earlier title and it didn't have the full voicework of the first game I played, but the writing in this is solid, especially in the nomad's route. I played the knight's route first and it was fine but I'm really glad that I gave this another shot after my first impression. Really well done. Honestly, I just wish their proofreaders had given it another pass because there are some occasional grammatical errors that I find pretty distracting in a game that is largely about the writing experience, but the story and plot are solid and a lot of the characters are really fun. I can see why they discounted the original asking price, but it's still a good game and definitely worth trying if you like visual novel fantasy. I feel like maybe the project was more ambitious than the product that was eventually delivered, but it's still a solid lil game and I'll still keep an eye out for more games from these folks.
i wish there was an 'eh' option for recommendations. I enjoyed this game, for what it was. while the art is very nice and i find the characters to be generally enjoyable, in the end i really wanted more. we spend very little time with these characters alone before locking in and the main plot felt a bit very rushed to me. this game could've benefited from a bit of room to breath. i don't consider it a complete waste of time, but possibly recommend getting it on sale if interested.
