Epistory immerses you in an atmospheric action/adventure game where you play a girl riding a giant fox who fights an insectile corruption from an origami world. As you progress and explore this world, the story literally unfolds and the mysteries of the magic power of the words are revealed.

So, overall I don't like the game. HOWEVER, it is adorable. The movement is awful. I kept trying to move through the map and lost to walls more often than enemies. The movement is nonsensical to me. E is up-left, F down-left, I up-right, J down-right, and WASD do work as normal. But since you are typing the WASD is not optimal for the combat. The little bit of the story I got to was cute. The literal unfolding of the story is a cool animation. I might try again when I feel more patient.
This game was a breath of fresh air for me. I've played it through completely at least three times over the last several years since I purchased it. No regrets; I highly recommend it!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Steam Deck Playable ❌ UW Support ⚠️ It's a game that definitely helps with the typing and the story falling to the background. However, one key note is that it is quite buggy in more ways than one. I completed the story and wanted to get all the achievements in the game. After switching to Linux, the achievement for counting all foes killed does not work. I've reached out to their support team but no response. It is an older game and it is a bit of fun, but with a lacking story and the visuals being passable, you can get more fun from other typing games. I'd even do Mavis Beacon if I wanted more metrics on my typing speed!
Helped me learn to use my Moonlander, helped turn me trans, highly recommended

Amazing game. The concept is unique and brilliant, as well as quite easy to understand. Challenging puzzles, quite hard boss waves. Even as a hobby writer, I definitely had some struggles, though mainly because I am not too good at multi-tasking. The different abilities brought a lot of strategy into the game too. When to use the fire, ice, sparks or wind was tough to figure out, but eventually, it became second nature. The visuals are also fabulous. The storytelling, chef's kiss. The hardest level was DEFINITELY the mines. Holy, my hand cramped up so much. The ice ability was such a life saver. Handling both the lights, which you need to attack the enemies, and the upcoming swarm of bugs was AGONIZING. All in all, marvelous experience.
I may not have the best typing skills, I make a lot of mistakes. However, this game does encourage you to try typing without mistakes otherwise - you die to the enemies, which I have done a lot. It teaches you how to spell correctly and to even type during the scenario that you're in. Apart from the typing aspect of the game, the visuals are quite unique. I'm amazed how it appears like you're opening a new book chapter each time you unlock a new area. The paper-like experience reminds me of Dungeons and Dragon's books but also when we used to make stuff out of paper. The paper-like feeling also comes alongside the lore of the game, which is presented like a story telling book. However you go at you're own pace, no need to rush. You can go back and get stuff you missed before continuing on with the story. Yes. for an old game it has bugs - I haven't really encountered many myself yet as I'm still going through the game. But the bugs I've experienced aren't game breaking at this stage - I have yet to encounter those myself. At this stage, I'd recommend this game to beginners, intermediate and advanced typers, especially if you like rouge like games and books.
