For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away.

Overall - A short typing game to waste some time on, but be prepared for bugs and an underwhelming story and characters. 3/10 Art style - Like a storybook, simply animated but strong in character. Gametime - Took about 5-6 hours to beat the game Storyline - A very simple story of a dying son and his father wanting to save him at all costs, that made it seem like a fairytale in nature when hearing it, but ultimately becomes the main focus. I was unable to really get into the story as it felt bland and lacking of character of any kind, the very basic voice acting reinforced that feeling and it did not mix well with how they progressed the story. Gameplay - It's a typing game, all of your attacks are dictated by words that you type, some themed to the creature that it's tailored to, but nevertheless just a typing game. It became very repetitive quickly as the words repeated many times, the ability to mix and match spells was interesting but I found that half of them were relatively useless or I just never knew how to use them properly. There's hardly any guide or tutorials in this regard which made it frustrating. Overall though it was very clunky gameplay, your character has to effectively stop moving while you type and it becomes a bit boring after some time. The main part where you are discovering plants and animals is neat, but underwhelming as these are all fictional creatures and wild life. Remembering any of it has no meaning and serves no purpose. Bugs / Issues - Frankly this is where I almost quit the game once or twice. From a UI standpoint there is no mini-map that is displayed default on your screen, you have to hold down the tab button or hit ESC to pause the game and see a larger version of the map. Binds do not save. The default movement keys are esdf instead of wasd, and you have to change it every time you start the game up. I faced multiple game breaking bugs including the mini map appearing and getting stuck on my screen which blocked half of the view. There were many areas that you could easily get stuck on and your character can't move. They literally had a respawn button stating to go back to a checkpoint in the case your character gets stuck, which I had to use often. A couple of time a mini-boss got stuck in the air and I had to reset the encounter and one time the monsters were given 2x speed out of nowhere. Frankly the game felt unfinished and it's bug ridden to a point where it can be very frustrating if you encounter them multiple times in a short period of time.
I don't know how this game was made around 5 years after the first game, Epistory. It's worse in a lot of ways. The art direction is not as interesting, the pacing is off, the levels are annoying to navigate, it performs poorly (e.g. cutscene volume is not synced with what is happening on screen), voice acting is mid, and I'm pretty sure I encountered a bug or glitch that stopped me from progressing at all. It's not without merit. I enjoy the elemental interactions in the areas, and having to type out a couple words to get a journal entry about a plant is cool, but overall this game is one step forward and two steps back. I didn't enjoy my time with it at all.
Nanotale - Typing Chronicles is a typing game. Both Epistory and Nanotale are relatively fun games and I adore typing games, but wow is this one infinitely buggy. I just finished the campaign and frankly, I am disappointed. The music and the graphics are really great, the story is good, everything is fine... But QA your games please! I started this game four years ago and stopped playing for a reason I can't remember. Coming back to it I decided to start fresh and I can see some reasons I would've stopped playing. First of all, it's so hard to know where to go next: there are tons of puzzles and for some you need unlocks, it's kind of a typing/puzzle/Metroidvania/adventure game! The terrain zap/ice spells create are super glitchy and you constantly get stuck into them. Your fox also gets stuck on a lot of terrain where you need to dismount in order to continue. There are many parts of the game where you run into invisible walls or obstacles, especially during desert boss fights and some other areas as well. Talking about the desert... even with a GTX 4060 (a high-end graphics card) I had to lower my resolution to 720P and my graphics to very low to fix a redundant crash that would pester the 'hand' fights. There are FIVE of them and I restarted them many times because of crashes, not fun. Every time you restart the game, your settings reset... I constantly have to reassign ESDF to WASD (who exactly uses ESDF to move?). Even after setting movement to WASD, moving the map still moves only with ESDF... Also the 'wait for every frame' option randomly toggles itself on and off??? Nope, that's not all the bugs yet... for a four hours game, there really are plenty ugh? We get to the final boss fight and all hell is let loose. Monsters attack you during the length dialogues with the boss, forcing you to skip all the lore and type fast unless you want to die. Trying to skip my way through the dialogues, I got into a glitch where the camera locked onto the boss and enemies started spawning endlessly and I closed the game after five minutes of killing foes with no progress to the boss fight at all. The final boss fight was buggy and even without the issues I faced, was a huge letdown. The credits roll way too fast, it's as if there's barely impact for everything we did. Overall, a fun game that is plagued by tons of glitches... Recommended only if you don't mind the bugs.
I love how easy the game is to play. I am not much of a fast typist, so I do like that I am able to take my time on certain words that come up during the game that need to be typed out. The game is easy to pick up and very addicting. I love the fact that I am able to play a game but also able to practice my typing skills on top of that. For anyone who is looking at honing their typing skills, or looking for something for your kids/grandkids to practice their typing, I highly recommend this game.
The end of the game just ruins the experience for me and I'm glad I only paid $5 for this. So, the story is nonsensical and studying plants will sometimes throw names of people at you that you haven't even met yet, so that's pretty lazy. Characters essentially are just trying to get you from point A to point B; there's no reason to care about any of them and none of them really have any emotions to them. The usual gameplay loop is pretty fun, though, and there are definitely some clever puzzles. But also some very frustrating and obtuse ones. And I guess they were on a time crunch or stopped caring or something by the time you get to the desert. This is where you'll start to fall through the map pretty often, and the game refuses to hint at you about new mechanics. And the new mechanics aren't even consistent, either. Sometimes fire would burn away the dry grass, but you're actually supposed to use WIND to get rid of it. Zero hint to that being the answer, either; you're just supposed to spam every ability you have and hope something works. That's so cheap. And I think the fire burning parts of it was actually a glitch! But how am I to know that? I assumed that was the hint that I was on the right track, but no. Fire isn't supposed to interact with it at all. Just weird game jankiness. And the desert map is large and unhelpful and I was able to cheese some puzzles by sliding into walls or clipping through things. And using enemy abilities to progress puzzles sounds nice on paper...but it's horribly utilised here. You can't progress without killing them in the right spot, and they don't respawn unless you go back to the Main Menu. C'mon. Again, laziness. Also, sometimes obstacles wouldn't even load and my character would get stuck trying to run through things that I couldn't see. I had no idea my character was stuck INSIDE grass until I rebooted the game, and even then, only half of it loaded in. I had to reboot TWICE for ONE section of the desert to load in properly. And the final boss is just the epitome of laziness. The bosses before this actually had interesting mechanics to them. But the final boss is so generic, and even as of now, in 2026, the combat still doesn't end during the final cutscenes so you're getting attacked by enemies while trying to read the text. I had to have the fox use it's lifesaving ability on me just so I could actually read the story happening before me. Why has this never been fixed? It was brought up as an issue a long time ago. But it's fine; the story is absolutely stupid and the final boss should have been an overarching Big Bad the entire game if they wanted THAT storyline to play out. Instead he's some no-name guy that I'm now suddenly supposed to care about? This is just so lazy. Disappointing. Epistory is leagues better. But I guess I got my $5's worth.
it's good for speed typing
Seems like a good game from what I have seen so far. However, its definitely buggy. I have found very regularly if you have dialogue with a character, it will not let you go to the next text box or close the text. Every single time it happens i have to reset my character and respawn. I avoided talking to any characters due to that but some arent avoidable as their text pops up on the screen when you walk up to them.
