The first game is close to perfect, so I REALLY wanted to like this game - but I just can't. It is far too strict with its resource management, leaving you close to softlocked in multiple areas unless you have the foresight to retry for a perfect run every single time.

This game is a major improvement on the first game! I love the crafting system and the new inventory! I've 100% the first game and loved it but this game is a different story. Specifically hard mode. I got the game after the changes to the levels and hard mode and, hard mode on this game is very unfair. I can not for the life of me go past level nine with any ammo. Please make hard mode fair! all it needs is more item spawns so that ammo is less scarce or less enemies because hard mode is just unplayable.

huge improvement over the first game. not having to manually *remove* each spent cartridge/shell from your guns makes the pace so much better. also there's some exploration-based levels this time instead of just being a series of linear challenges, and you can actually run away/through encounters to save resources. it's a fully fledged survival horror game this time! the new inventory and crafting system is also really solid, and creates some good risk/reward decisions. i had some very tense moments where i was low on resources and barely managed to scrape through, which is just exactly what survival horror is about. one problem: the inventory can often overlap with weapons causing you to open it at inopportune times and get killed. the inventory being in a fixed position (eg. some kind of belt bag) would be a nice QoL improvement. while i was lukewarm on the first game i really enjoyed this. a must-play indie horror title for me.

genuinely peak, EVERYTHING about this game is good, it's just..... i suck at this and im stuck on one of the parts, otherwise.. yeah it's peak. play endoparasitic 1 too btw
