It has all the problems that any 4X has, so if you are at the age where you find those issues annoying then you will find them annoying here too. For example, you will steamroll the AI, no question about it, unless you basically handicap yourself to death. It has all the issues of micromanaging that all 4X, civ likes have.... The battles are meh... there are a ton of bugs, 11 years later. Having said all that, this is a game you should have as paradoxical as the advice sounds after my first paragraph.... It is just good. Probably the best civilization like game there is. It is hard to describe the old school allure of it, but if you happen to play it you will see what I mean. I understand that the review is not the most helpful but this is because of the nature of the game. If you are looking for Just One More Turn 4X game, this will do it for sure... but it has all the baggage of the genre and some bugs on top of it. But is it fun? You bet. Should you get it especially on a sale? Absolutely.
