For a very casual gaming experience, this game ticks most of the boxes. The art is nice, the music is fine, the hidden object scenes are varied. The puzzles are varied, which was nice, and several of them can be switched between Easy and Hard. All that said, I was left feeling very "meh" about this game. The plot was more absent than usual in a setting that *could* have been interesting. The characters felt completely undeveloped. Not unusual for HOPA games, but the good ones will draw you into the world and make you wish for more. Also, the game is very short (ignore my recorded time). Not even the bonus chapter helped make the game feel the right length. The biggest con in this game was that all items - no matter what - are single use. I'm used to this in HOPA games, I really am. But this was one of the worst for picking up and dropping things like hammers, screw drivers, matches, etc. and then needing the exact same thing not much later. No explanation, not even a throw away line like "darn it broke" or something. Overall: I was disappointed. It's a pretty game and the puzzles are more varied than usual. However, it falls short of its promise in ways that are important to the "adventure" part of "HOPA". Buy it on sale for casual play. Pros: - art, setting - varied puzzles (some choice of difficulty) - some nice HO scenes (I would have preferred more HO scenes and less variety) - difficulty settings can be fully customized - interactive map (but the game is very linear and kept to 3-4 locations at a time) Cons: - story was not interesting (lots of potential, no follow through) - extremely linear - protagonist was not interesting - very little voice acting (but what was there was good) - short, even with the bonus chapter

This game is a lot of fun. The plot is cool and the games aren't to hard. The hidden objects are goodl
Stupid and illogical even by HOG standards.
Usually pretty pleased with BFG's games like these, but this one... the story is flimsy and doesn't end well, many of the tasks are two-fold for no reason (ie, take a sharp object to cut a sharp object out of vines so you can use the new sharp object instead), and several of the puzzle hints are misleading. There are many that are reasonable ("I need to douse this fire" = put water on the fire, but "I need to find something to unscrew this" = a button).
This is a great game, for those looking for a hidden object type game, the artwork is lovely, the puzzles are maybe not overly taxing, just wish that Steam would make the others in the collection available... pretty please?
