LaserCat is a short and fun platforming experience. It is too easy to offer much of a challenge but there is a ton of weird and funny stuff to find. It is nice that you can explore things in whatever order you like and there is almost no backtracking because the game allows you to teleport to any checkpoint.
UUuhh. I completed the whole game. And u know what? I really enjoyed it! It was smth familiar with VVVVVV because of screen to screen movements and lots of enemies, that kills you in 1 touch. But it was smth really different, even with lots of humor. Great Platformer. Thanks, Dan!
i like lasercat because there are some groovy songs while exploring the map 10 of 10 for best audio 8 of 10 for best detail
This game is fun... I think?? Your this little cat that jumps around levels an collects keys. The cat is very badly animated. Actually its just a picture of a cat, if i am correct. Regardless, the levels are pretty fun to explore honestly. Controls are simple and there are achievements and trading card for this game. I did run into a few glitchy moments while playing, but it was very brief. It's a good game for the price.
LaserCat
Hangi oyun zıplama tuşunu (A) ya atar işte böle bir oyun LaserCat. Koleksiyon Kartı için alınabilir
A really excellent game I first played on Xbox Live Indie Games. It's a fun little platformer that is fairly simple for the most part but without ever being boring, and even the trickier parts manage to tread that fine line between challenging and frustrating. The quiz questions and writing are genuinely funny too. So glad to finally see it on Steam as it's always fun to have a reason to give it another playthough!
LaserCat is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This is a somewhat metroidvania-esque experience where you can move from room to room and unlock things to progress. Like ancient Amstrad/Spectrum/c64 platformers, each room has it's own theme, which was charming in 1987, and incredibly dated and obsolete by todays standards. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings I've ever hurt my eyes on. The developer couldn't even work out how to make your cat animated, so it's just a static pixel blob that you move around. Ouch. That's bad. It's unclear if all this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at 1080p, a very low resolution that became mainstream back in 2006 and became obsolete when 4K entered the mainstream in 2014. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. The controls and game handling are notably very clunky and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the video game construction kit/toolset, Microsoft XNA Game Studio. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur/unskilled developers as it doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. LaserCat is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
Technically: this is a softer version of VVVVVV (or 6V). Cute story, easier game, some trivia (sometimes it doesn't make any sense, only humour) and you can finish fast. A sequel would be nice or extending the universe. Like how did the cat and the owl met, what's the story behind them? And finally did Lasercat got his dream car or not? Also what will Wizzard do in the meantime? But hey. In short: It's a pleasant game. :)
