It's quite hard for me to rate this game. Looking at the gameplay trailer, I knew perfectly well that this wouldn't be a polished experience like Sekiro, for example, but I bought it nonetheless. I value a challenge, so I only played expert mode from start to finish. Most of the fights were fine and some were even enjoyable, but there are a few things that rather enraged me: - The controls are decent most of the time, but when encountering multiple enemies, your character's target is sometimes unpredictable and changes just as you press attack. - Boss fights are alright once you figure them out, but this game really suffers from add-spawn-spammeritis. This was incredibly infuriating, especially during the final battle. I spent well over 70% of the fight running away, trying to create an opening, and isolating enemies. - Instances of small-room fights against multiple enemies are just terrible design. This is partly because of the camera, which moves into an advantageous position like a 90-year-old grandma after sitting on the couch for 7 hours straight. - All the points above are mainly nerve-wrecking because of one fact: unlike in most games, enemies all attack at once and don't play chicken. This might be more realistic (considering they are trained soldiers) than the NPC behavior in an Assassin's Creed game, but it isn't necessarily better gameplay-wise. It forces you to engage with the crowd-control mechanics provided by the environment, which is perfectly fine until you run out of said environment. Other than combat: Soundtrack and visuals are good and match the atmosphere, but nothing majorly impressive. I enjoyed the voice acting though. All characters sounded unique and matched their characters. I also liked how soldiers you defeated kept talking while lying on the ground after you finished the arena. between arenas and boss fights there are platforming sections which are mainly there to provide text snippets for lore and story, but sometimes there are just empty platforming sections and they are.... there. They arent challanging or particulary fun and you do not lose anything when failing. They just put a break between fights and thats that. Would I recommend this game? For the original price, probably not. It is a short experience, and it's flawed. It is an okay game, and I like the lighthearted humor, but it could be better. When I finished the game after about 6 h I was glad it was over, which is not a good sign. On sale, it's a reasonable purchase if you like combat games with parry mechanics. I really only bought it because it was in a bundle with Sifu and on sale. 6.8/10 – Will most likely not play again.

Good action game carried by the gameplay. The best part of the game is by far the combat system but it could've used another attack button and removing all the sliding into range both you and your enemies do, there is no outspacing attacks. Enemies don't care about taking turns that much forcing you to use the environment to distract and split them up so you can take out enemies weakened by you kicking them around which is cool and different. The plot is basic which fits the game, the writing is a bit cringe but nothing too bad. The biggest let down is the bosses which are just slightly buffed normal enemies. Also cheats are not "accessibility" options and games need to stop conflating the two. Overall good but very short.
Great game! If you're into games like Sifu, but want a simpler experience, this is for you. That being said, the game can be very difficult too, especially if you're going for the 100%. The best part about it is that you can tailor the difficulty to your preference in the settings. This is an action game that both action game fans and non-action game fans can play. It's a bit on the short side, but various collectibles and challenges make it very replayable, as well as the Arena Mode, which comes with gameplay modifiers to spice things up. The story is very quippy and funny in an almost saturday morning cartoon kind of way. Adalia and her various quirky nemeses are quite fun to listen to. The character dialogue during battles is especially well done, making me laugh out loud on a few occasions, no doubt due to the great voice acting. The graphics are beautiful and are what initially grabbed me when I first saw this game at a gaming event (can't remember which one), though there are a few rough spots. There are quite a few areas in the game where you can see the void of nothingness out of bounds, but it's more funny than anything. Despite not expecting AAA quality out of this game, I was still pleasantly surprised. My favorite aspect of the visuals is the depth of field that makes objects in the distance look almost hand-painted. Really cool effect and it's the first time I've seen it in a game. The gameplay is really addicting and immensely satisfying to the point where I actually went and got all of the achievements. It took me days to manage to get the no-hit ones, but it was worth it in the end. The best part about the gameplay is how free-form it feels. All in all a great experience and I highly recommend it! I'll probably be thinking about this one a lot in the future.
Very good game, a bit short story mod , lackluster content Recommended at a discounted price for a nice evening of play Work fine on Steam Deck with a bit of frame gen
Honestly some of the most fun I've ever had in a soulslike!
En Garde!
divertido y combate satisfactorio
Can't stop laughing. Can't stop swashbuckling. Can't stop playing. Very good game. It's basically Sekiro + Crash Bandicoot.
