Short silly game where you're a frog that kills other animals
https://youtu.be/eI5uIoEkH8M After passing the initial joke of the frog whom swallowed a gun, the rest of the game is bog standard with bouncy movement and aiming.

Gun Frog is a cute little indie game with a fun idea, but I had a bit of a mixed experience with it. I liked the art style and the overall vibe, and blasting enemies as a frog is just inherently funny. It's definitely got charm. The biggest issue for me was the controls and physics. I never really got comfortable with them, and they made some of the fights harder than I felt they needed to be. I ended up sticking to easy mode because I knew I wasn't going to have a good time on the higher difficulties. I beat every boss except one optional one, and... I may or may not have cheesed the final boss by hiding in the ammo seller's stand and blasting the boss while staying hidden. I also had zero interest in going for 100%. The extreme difficulty achievements just didn't sound fun with how the game handles, so I called it quits after finishing the main content. Overall, I think it's a cute game with a lot of personality, but the controls held it back enough that I'd wish steam had a neutral review option.
Repetitive and Flawed
Gun Frog is a game that is so close to being good, but a couple design choices ultimately make it more frustrating than fun to play. To start off, its extremely repetitive, despite being less than an hour long. Every single level is exactly the same despite what the store page says. You hop around finding 3 buttons to shoot, then kill a bunch of enemies before fighting a giant version of said enemy. This isn't the worst gameloop ever, but I wish there was some variety in locations to keep things fresh. You have to kill flies in order to do anything in this game. You need flies to buy ammo which you need to shoot things, and to move around efficiently, and to heal since if you get hit twice you die and restart the level. You even need them to go to the next level after beating the boss which is a shockingly stupid choice since it just wastes your time. Here's the problem with the flies. Ammo is essential in this game. If you run out of ammo you basically instantly die since your movement is so awful without your gun. You can only buy ammo from one guy in each level, so if you run out of ammo on the other side of the map, good game. The flies essentially block you from freely moving around, and from killing things. I do not understand why they're in the game like this. The game would be 100x better I think if you had infinite ammo but just had to reload after x amount of shots and here's why. Moving around without your gun is horrendous, and that's by design and something I have no problem with. You're supposed to use your gun to propel yourself through the air, and to make longer jumps. Between shooting the enemies, and moving around you can go through your max capacity of 30 bullets in 20 seconds easily, especially in a boss fight. The flies ruin the pace of everything and force you to camp around the fly guy, and farm flies before you start the boss fight. This absolutely murders the pace of the game and limits how effectively you can play the game. Limiting your ammo in this way takes away so much momentum from a game that markets itself as being fast paced, and high action. You're actually punished for playing in this way and it's a baffling design choice that absolutely kills the game's fun factor, and takes what could very easily be a fantastic game, and instead turns it into a repetitive slog to get through.
