INSANELY complex game. I get why some reviews compared this to Space Engineers. Another game that I uninstalled for mostly the same reasons. I got stuck multiple times on the tutorial. I got past quit a few stuck moments to find that it was a misunderstanding of the instructions or something silly. After 5.5 hours of struggling through the TUTORIAL and honestly it wasn't a terrible experience I finally lost my patience with the complexity and realized I was no longer having fun struggling through the learning process. I can see how someone who suffered their way through the insane process of learning how to play this game would have such intense sunk cost that they'd be locked in for life but for 99% of players who try this game its going to be a hell no and its just a matter of how long it takes to cross your threshold to uninstall this game. When this game offered a play for free for 3 days I really struggled to even give this game a chance and spent a ton of time in the player reviews trying to convince myself to play. I now understand why there a few players out there with 8000 hours played and I 100% understand why this game has TERRIBLE overall reviews. The idea of what a game like this could be is way more compelling then any game has managed to pull yet. Swing and a miss. Uninstalled
I wish I could recommend this but I just can't and have been putting this review off for years now hoping things would improve and the devs would get there act together but nope same old slacking, I bought this a long time ago I loved the old school style/look and could easily look past the flaws because it was still a work in early progress well progress has been shameful to the point I wana play No mans sky over this and I used to call that game "No man's lie" like for real the progess No mans sky has made compared to this in the same time frame is insane and gets even worse when you compare it to newer games that have far more to show for the money/time than this team does in drastically less time than this team has had, Save your money for a team that will respect your investment and deliver
Just play Space Engineers The vanilla game is horrendous. The text formatting and writing of missions and tutorials is a drug-fuelled mess. The Reforged Eden 2 mod is worth playing, that's the only redeeming feature.
I got this game back in 2016 when it recently came out into early access. And back then it was kind of fun. It was fun to build bases and space ships and capital vessels and travel through space. Discover new planets with new ressources and so on. It was rough around the edges since it was early access but I really liked it. I came back to this game like 10 years later and I didn't recognize it anymore. I just could not get into it again. It lost everything that made it interesting to me. Would not recommend it anymore even if I got my fun out of it. But that was a different game.
Great game with tons of content. Best space exploration and crafting game yet!!
just play star citizen
To me this is what Star Citizen promised to be years ago. Don't expect an AAA title, but the game is interesting enough to explore, especially when you don't have a clue. I downloaded the demo, started the game, found myself crashing in an escape pod on some alien moon. Graphics are immersive, you can see rings and shadows in the clouded sky, a gas giant, an indicator for a space station, other moons. While walking around you encounter plants, animals, ruins, you can collect things, fight things. At this point it just looks like a nice open world explorer without tedious mandatory tutorials or opening scenes to paint a narrative, and apparently there are many more planets to visit and things to craft. On sale for €7,99, that's a bargain.
Awful game, guides are too long, overly complicated but boring at the same time. I'd rather go cliff jumping with no water at the bottom, then play this game again.
