This game is unfortunately may never be finished and is seemingly abandonware. The project originally had a really good implementation of emergency services in NYC strongly focusing on the Fire Department. While it was buggy and laggy in the early stages it was expected considering it was really early in development. As time progressed, the waiting became longer, the updates were giving very slow and minimal progress towards completion. Not to mention the game is worth about $30 at time of when I purchased it years ago. The dev made some statement that he was working on this project alone and was simply stalling for the inevitable. The game has not been updated for some years now, still extremely laggy and full of bugs and quirks that make the game barely playable. It is not recommended at nearly $30 to play this game as it is certainly not worth this amount with the current state of the game.

Last update was 9 months ago as of writing this review, Game had so much potential. STAY AWAY
save your money, creator says he is working on fixing bugs but his fixes do not work. if you have the nicest most expensive gaming computer it will still lag. its not the computer, its the game and how it was built
It's abandoned... save your money UNLESS you just want it... because the sirens are great, vehicles are ok... but... since the game is LAGGY as hell, unfinished, and empty I lean more on the "no".
I bought this game awhile ago when it looked like it had some potential. The majority of time that I spent on it was just trying to get the game to run. Seeing that the devs abandoned the game (from what it looks like) is more than disappointing. I would not recommend buying this game at all. Waste of money and has way to many bugs. Yet another example of why I'm always hesitant to buy an early release game.
abandoned
the controls are terrible. everything about this game is terrible
Backed this game when it was still on Indiegogo, refunded because I didnt get what was promised (Still never recieved my refund and my Steam key that was promised never worked) so I bought it on sale thinking it MIGHT become something. As you can see it never became anything, game is unoptimized, riddled with bugs and issues and the core gameplay is still not even there. Promises upon promises but nothing to show for, I know its a very small team but after 7 years you might think atleast the CORE is there. Big updates that come ones in a blue moon are even more broken than the rest of the game, so the dev spends days releasing patches and bug fixes and then claims the game is being actively developed and updated and then dares to ask on Discord for positive reviews. Avoid this dev at all cost, I would also not recommned the new game thats being developed because I am fairly certain its going to end up the exact same way. Save your money and time!
He's now working on another game because this one isn't selling enough. This is what he posted: "Originally posted by FlipSwitchGames: Hello, yes a new project is in the works. EmergeNYC does not sell enough anymore to support me financially as a game developer. This does NOT mean EmergeNYC is abandoned. The AI update is still in the works and will release by the end of the year. I just have had to shift my focus to the new project which is going to be able to continue to fund me and this project. It is unfortunate but EmergeNYC over the years sells less and less and does not even cover my rent monthly. The game is NOT abandoned, it is simply on the back burner while I get this other game off the ground which in less than a year got much more support and attention then EmergeNYC ever did. So this new game needs to do well if EmergeNYC is to continue development." Been nearly 7 years since this EA, can't even get a refund
The Dev of this game is not going to finish it and banned me from all the socials for the game just for asking him questions and calling him out for lying about is promise to finish the game but now has start to make a new game he will do the same to because he a greedy person I had high hopes and used it for training tactics at my fire dept. i do hope steam steps in and takes this off the store again and stops his new game from coming out.
