About
Elsewhere is a sandbox crafting game that combines survival, exploration, quests, and magic with deep progression. Start with basic tools and gradually unlock new technology and/or magic systems as you explore the world and complete objectives. Build your base, try different playstyles, automate everything, and discover how far you can push your progression—from simple survival to hi-tech systems and powerful alchemy, with plenty of room for experimentation and long-term play.
The game is inspired by old-school Minecraft modpacks and features many new and unique features such as character creation, building templates, monster-filled castles, and many more.
Hi everyone! My name is Sergio, and Elsewhere is a game I’ve been developing since 2012. Since late 2018, I’ve been working on it nearly full-time. All code for the game is done by me, while the art assets are either done by me or by my more talented artist friends.

In Elsewhere, players can explore the world, fight monsters, and collect loot, or gather and process resources while gradually advancing from simple tools and medieval technology all the way to fusion power and particle accelerators.

The game also features magic, alchemy, ancient ruins and temples, and vast procedurally generated castles and dungeons filled with bosses to discover and conquer.

Players are guided by a quest system, though it doesn’t need to be followed linearly - or even at all. Building a fully automated Jaffa Factory, for example (or more precisely, a Chocolate Cookie Factory), can be a real challenge, with countless elements to consider and many resources to automate and process.

Elsewhere features a large, procedurally generated, and fully interactive world with dozens of unique biomes. Players can place and remove blocks, build castles and machines, gather and process resources, farm and cook food, explore ancient ruins and temples, fight monsters, avoid traps, collect loot, and much more. The game includes over 7,500 blocks, more than 6,000 recipes, and upwards of 300 quests.

The game includes pre-built bases and building templates, a wide variety of decorative blocks and items—including arcade machines with mini-games—along with character creation, pre-made skins, and many other unique elements.

Planned future features include NPC interactions, story elements, expanded modding support, and much more (see below).
Please note that while Elsewhere already includes most of its intended mechanics, it is still a work in progress. It’s also a very large game that takes time to fully explore and unravel.

The game features plenty of jokes and references, and there’s even a free-to-play modification called YogLabs: Testing Initiative, inspired by the YogLabs series. All Yogscast-related content is included with permission.

Elsewhere is built on a desire to recreate the joyful nostalgia and spirit of classic Minecraft modpacks. This game wouldn’t exist without the creativity of the hundreds of mods that inspired it - so I want to say a particular thanks to the modding community for their brilliance and dedication!

Avoiding the obvious temptation to compare this to minecraft, it is a beautifully tailored survival crafting game which literally has something for everyone, building, tech, fighting, and a questline that does a great job of explaining the game, while adding some great loot randomness. Seriously, just buy it. EDIT: Love this so much, i wish the early game lasted a bit longer, taking notes from mods like Rustic and Tcon would help the playtime alot
A clear letter of love to a certain group of Bristol, UK based gamers & one of their flagship series. As someone who grew up watching the Yogscast & many of their antics, seeing another be so inspired to make their own block based game of mining and crafting brings great warmth. Sergio, you've done great work here.
I'm very glad that I finally attempted to try this game. It's like having a solution for people who want that near-perfect and old-school "kitchensink, yet balanced modpack" of MC (that should include staples like IC2/Thermal Explansion/etc). I'm only about 12+ hours in game though. I appreciate amount of detail put into it, and just being an experience that makes veteran modded-MC players to feel "at home". It doesn't yet (at version 0.59 at least) include some fair basics of MC (boats, trains, ...) but it got mostly everything that's important for long-term progression fun. If you ever liked modded (Feed the beast, and other similar modpacks) experience of MC, you would do yourself a disservice not trying this game.
Очень даже хорошо передает дух классических сборок майна по типу техник. Играется на удивление приятно. Разраб постоянно обновляет игру и прислушивается к сообществу дискорда. Видно, что проект создан с любовой. Хорошая игра
I have waited a long time for a game like this, love it!
Really liking it man brings back alot of that old minecraft vibe with enough difference to make it fresh and some newer stuff brought in. Very happy with it so far
Very fun. Worth ever penny.
I have been playing this game since it was first available from the developers site. An excellent Voxel game with a nice art style and a very full featured world. Really glad to have backed this game. Give it a try !
"Безумная сборка модов для Майнкрафта с вычурным ресурспаком" Как по мне для раннего доступа прикольный простенький клон Майнкрафта на несколько часов с друзьями, интересно изучать!
It takes a little getting used to and has a bit of an initial learning curve but the quests help walk you through things. It reminds me of another voxel game but with some mods integrated out of the box. I still play the other voxel mining game for VR but I definitely recommend this game if you like the genre.
