Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 10 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

First thing you gotta do, which I know is borderline impossible, is put your Suikoden expectations to the wayside. There are obviously components that are meant to scratch that itch so many of us have been living with for so long, but it won't fully satiate if your memory of that great series is too perfect. Eiyuden Chronicle is certifiably fun, even though for some of you, it won't plunge your emotions into the ether like you're hoping. The story isn't remarkably bold, but at least it's clearly present and enough to flesh out some favorite characters. The lack of innovative gameplay features are my issue; which wouldn't be too much of a problem if enough characters had strikingly unique variety, whereas different arrangements might starkly changed the landscape of these battles, but they don't. You'll find yourself using other characters simply just cause, but not because it wildly shifts gears in the strategic realm. And you'll get that feeling most bloated roster RPGs give you, where you feel silly for not using the most obvious strongest people, but you're just so sick of the formulaic process you've cornered yourself into by recognizing patterns too well. The duels of suikoden are the main thing I don't want you to pine for.. because they're sickeningly insulting in Eiyuden. It's basically just a quick-time button presser where the outcome largely doesn't even deviate depending on how badly you're doing. Plus a bunch of bells and whistles thrown out in hopes to keep you engaged. We all deserved something better, and even would've preferred something antiquated than be faced with this backslid design. If you're going to play it, play it blindly. As discovering who to recruit is a large slice of the fun, and most characters if not all, are possible to reasonably attain by your own wit and deduction, no guide needed. I also appreciate that the game didn't take the opportunity to make the main protagonists absolute tanks, giving you reasons to experiment with other characters constantly. However, I just wish that endeavor didn't fall flat once the mechanisms of who's valuable boils down to what I would say, "too simple of terms." Overall, it's enjoyable! If this game wasn't standing on the pillars of people's wishes for a suikoden resurrection, it would probably go down smoother. But then again, I can't think of any other feature about it that would generate comparably as much buzz. Hope you appreciate it for the things that it is, and not what our nostalgia is starving for.
Just finished the game and recruited all 100 characters. Overall, this is a very solid JRPG and a great spiritual successor to the Suikoden style. The story is warm and engaging, the characters are likable, and building the headquarters while recruiting heroes feels genuinely rewarding. I really enjoyed the mock battles, but honestly hoped there were more of them or a deeper system. It feels like something that could be expanded further in future content or a sequel. The card game, while fun at first, is unfortunately too easy. Once you understand it, there’s very little challenge, and the AI doesn’t really scale in the late game. In terms of gameplay, I really wish there was a battle speed or fast-forward option, especially during regular encounters. Combat can feel a bit slow at times, and a speed toggle would greatly improve the overall pacing. That said, the game delivers what it promises: Classic JRPG vibes Strong sense of camaraderie and adventure Lots of content for completionists It’s not perfect, but it’s clearly made with heart. Overall score: 8/10 Would definitely recommend it to fans of classic JRPGs and story-driven single-player games.
Disclaimer: I dropped the game right as I
Unlocked the castle
, but plan on coming back to it at some point. The game has the bones of a great classic JRPG, but falls flat at times. Some examples: there are obvious performance issues in some places on the map, the grind isn't really fun, you can't skip attack animations, there are several continuity issues I ran into, cutscenes drag on often, the fighting system can be very confusing to understand, and lastly it feels very rough around the edges still. There are a lot of positives, for example I really like the VAs and the story overall. The gameplay also makes some interesting twists and turns. They also did an incredible job with character/monster design. Everything felt super unique and lacked that classic JRPG (Final Fantasty) clone feeling that a lot of games like this have. The humor is pretty great too, I love the healer you run into early game. EC: Rising (bundled with this game) was WAY more fun in my opinion. I really enjoyed the combat system in that mixed with a lot of classic fetch quests and campy monsters. I was very disappointed to learn that they went with a classic turn based system in this game because the other game felt so good to play and I wanted more of that.
Super boring dialogues and there is also wait time maybe 2-3 seconds when old dialogue disapear and new one appear, or even the first one show. So you are just waiting and clicking X on your controller. It can be skipped, but it is very often. Fights are also bad, it just randomly appear even where you already cleared one...
